Jul vs Thel?

When the Locke preorder video dropped, the Banshee was the Halo 4 design. Yet the cover art showed the classic Banshee design. This makes me think we’ll be seeing the conflict between the Sangheili factions, specifically Thel’s and Jul’s. Do you think this will lead to a confrontation between Thel and Jul? Would be an interesting fight see go down. At least better than this fight XD

I do think that Jul 'Mdama and the Arbiter may actually fight each other at one point, but when is quite the question. It could be in Halo 5 (and that would be a great place to have it happen in), but it could happen at anytime really. I think it would be a really good confrontation to see, since Jul is pretty much the complete opposite of Thel 'Vadam, and is more or less the anti-Arbiter. I would imagine many fans would want Thel to win the fight, and I think I do too.

A lot of fans have expressed hopes of seeing a Thel V Jul swordfight. I’m uncertain if this is pertaining from a joke, but it is plausible and would be more than a little epic. But so far, I think it’s safe to make the presumption that Jul’s faction will be the main opposing foe and the Arbiter’s faction, the Swords of Sanghelios, will be allied with Locke’s team and may even play a role on the Chief’s side.

The first time I saw the trailer, I actually thought it was the classic design. With the Jul and Thel fight, I think the problem is that most people don’t see Jul as someone capable of taking on Thel in a fight, just like most people don’t think a fight between Locke and Master Chief is fair either. Maybe they both have surprises up their sleeve. If they did fight, I think it would have to be in Halo 5. I think Jul will end up changing his mind on his extremist views and perhaps re-unify the Covenant with Thel and take on ONI together. If not, then there’s always room for a fight between them in Halo 6. We’ll see

I get the feeling that if they did fight Jul would lose quite horribly. I’m sure in one of the Kilo 5 books he mentions something about not being that great a warrior, been a while since I read it though.

Thel would clearly kick Jul’s -Yoink-

The trailer showed a new Banshee variant not the T26B.

I just can’t imagine Jul willingly subjecting himself to a fair fight against Thel. I could imagine him feigning a fair fight, but having backup not far away and snipers overlooking the whole thing so that when Thel goes in for the kill (because we all, including Jul, knew he would win) he gets ambushed by Jul’s forces and is forced to retreat.

This.

Yet, if I had to chose, I would chose Thel.

I imagine that Jul would be a very formidable foe for Thel when Jul has the ability to genuinely summon Promethean Knights at will. Were I Jul, and if I were in a 1v1 with Thel, I’d wait for Thel to build up blinding anger towards me as we fight, then call in a Promethean or seven to attack him from behind, and then seize the moment of distraction to bury an energy sword into his gut.

I don’t think Jul could come close to beating Thel in a fair fight. I’m not sure master chief or locke could best Thel in a fair fight either.

But when have we ever seen Thel build up blinding anger? He’s always been the most calm and collected hero right ahead of Master Chief

Thel is more experienced, more intelligent, and more tactical. He’s a fighter that doesn’t rely on brawn (because he’s not the largest of elites), he relies on brain. Jul, while powerful, would be kicked the -Yoink- out off into the remnants of Installation 0 if he ever fought the Arbiter with his badass armor and superior energy sword prowess.

thel vadamee is to OP

I hope Jul have health insures because he going to get one huge BEAT DOWN.

His great victory at reach composed of bum rushing his ships at the orbital guns, while leaving a ship that could have sniped them all out while out of range completely unprotected so that a single human ship could sink it.

Jul’s actually done pretty well against the UNSC despite lacking the overwhelming power Thel had at his disposal.

He was also able to sneak an entire army onto Reach without anyone noticing. By the time the UNSC fought back, it was too late
