Jul 'Mdama's Fleet

Anyone wonder how Jul ‘Mdama got ahold of all the new Covenant ships in H5? Last I checked he had Song of Retribution and a fleet of all CRS class light cruisers, and a few armored cruisers, as well as all those Lich ships. Anyone wonder what happened to all those? And in the open cut scene, you see a hologram of Jul’ 'Mdama and what appears to be a CCS or CRS cruiser even though none are in the game.

He could have acquired them by other means. Keep in mind he was the most powerful Covenant Remnant for some time, so its not unreasonable that he had multiple fleets under his command.

Its also possible they had them the whole time and they just weren’t depicted, like when Cruisers and UNSC frigates show up in 2, or like how Corvettes show up in Reach

Both of the above.

And I believe it was 2 years or so between Halo 4 and 5, plenty of time to make new ships, let alone aquire them.

He would have had ample time to acquire new ships and as mentioned above it was years between games so there is no reason he couldn’t take ships from other fleets too.

Where was the Song of Retribution though? Shouldn’t it have been there with Jul at Kamchatka (or however you spell it), or at least at Sunaion? We could have at least gotten a line from an SoS Elite like “The Song of Retribution sinks! The battle is in our favor now!” while the screen shook, signifying the offscreen destruction of the ship. Unless they intend to kill it off in Halo: Escalations or Halo: Shadow of Intent (which would be rad, IMO)

If the ships are new and not ships that have been there the whole time and just never shown (we still haven’t seen a UNSC destroyer or half the Covie ships from the books in-game) Its possible he had already commissioned the fleet and they only Finished constructing them between games.

> Jul obtain the fleet around March 2553, got to Requiem in 2554. Forward of Dawn didn’t get there until July 2557. Then the second battle of Requiem took place in February 2558 and Jul was killed in October 2558 at the Battle of Kamchatka

Spartan ops was 6 months after the Halo 4 campaign so Halo 5 is 14 months after the end of Halo 4’s campaign.

Yeah 8 months after Spartan Ops not 2 years

Maybe he just bought them at some Sangheili Costco?

Try reading “Halo GlassLands” by “Karen Traviss” , keep in mind its a 3 book set and GlassLands is the 1st of the three.
I dont wont too spoil it for you but it does give some of Jul 'Mdama’s back story.

Lockup - one of Jul’Mdama’s Covenant faction’s central bases on Shield World 0001 - was a Forerunner vessel construction yard. Given how he had six months to tool about on Requiem unopposed…

And Song of Retribution is probably going to be crushed like a tin can by the Absolute Record’s defensive constraint fields.
