ive bean pondering this for months now, but i honestly believe that Jul isn’t dead, what if Halsey never made contact with him, but instead a doppelganger Jul hired, same doppelganger that died in h5. Try to convice me that im wrong
I think that Jul is truly dead. Jul was always the kind of leader that did -Yoink- with his men on the front lines, also since he was with Halsey and wanted to get the Janus Key, he was probably going to have her retrieve it and then betray her so he can continue his version of the “Great Journey”. Also many people hated him, I’m pretty sure that 343 just killed him off due to poor fan reviews.
You…you see him die.
This might be a worse theory than Noble 6 not being dead…And he is most definitely dead.

Jorge, Six and Jul M’lady are all sitting in a tiny corner of the galaxy together, waiting for all this to blow over.
I wish he wasn’t, but yeah I’m pretty sure he’s dead. He was stabbed in the neck and got no medical assistance or anything.
I know this was a theory thrown around closer to Halo 5’s laucnh.
I’d say it’s a little bit more believable given that Jul having a body double seems somewhat plausible as opposed to B312 fighting his way off of Reach, but that’s just me.
What reason would Jul have to use a doppelgänger? Also wouldn’t Halsey notice?

Many people hated him? Since when
Jul is dead.
If he would have get immediatly medical treatment,he may could have survived, but there was noone to do that.
While I personally didn’t agree with Jul being killed off, he was built up quite well in the books and not so great in Spartan Op…He died. He got a blade in the neck from an ONI trained Spartan, also given that two of their major arteries are in their neck, it is safe to say he is as dead as a doornail. Also Jul wasn’t the kinda of leader to really use body doubles, it goes against alot of what we know of Elites. I am not opposed to the idea though.

Spartan Ops. It’s because of Spartan Ops
I think 343 would have thrown in some hints or something to suggest he isn’t. As far as I know there really hasn’t been anything.
He’s an fanatical covenant leader, he would find it cowardly to hide or to send a body double.

Jul isn’t a “traditional” Sangheili leader. Honor doesn’t mean much to him, nor does religion. His Covenant wasn’t meant to be much more than a front to exact revenge on humanity and the Swords of Sanghelios for the death of his wife. He just passed himself off as a religious individual in order to gain supporters.
holy crap you’re right, and noble 6 must’ve been his doppelganger! and that wasn’t really halsey either. that was johnson disguised as a woman! how far does this go?!

I was thinking the same thing, Jul M’dama is as alive as the prophet of truth.

I never saw anybody say they hated mdama because of spartan ops
Jul 'Mdama didn’t think that way. He was a warrior-leader, and a hands-on personality. We see this in Spartan Ops and Escalation multiple times. He’s never employed a duplicate – or if he has, it has been deft and flawless and secret even to the audience. It would be serendipitous for him to employ a duplicate literally on the only mission he dies on. It also wouldn’t benefit Jul in the slightest to allow himself to stay dead longer than the end of that mission – and yet we don’t see or hear of him on Sanghelios, where the last of his loyal soldiers wage his war without his supervision. Jul wouldn’t abide that.
He’s pretty dead. Legacy of Onyx gave us his eldest son Dural, though, to maybe carry the torch. So, there’s that.

I only know him from Spartan Ops, and I thought he was cool. I was really disappointed that he died so early in Halo 5, and that we didn’t even get to fight him as a video game boss.
