Jul Mdama is a boss on Sangheilios...

So why he wasn’t a boss in the Campaign? Why do we needed 40 Warden’s but we couldn’t get Jul Mdama as a boss in Campaign?
It was already heart breaking seeing such a well developed and morally grey character killed off FOR THE LOLZ but 343i took the extra step to insult those people who enjoyed everything his character brought to Halo by making it canon that his last image in this universe is to be repeatedly killed as if in limbo.

When I saw him I was shocked and insulted. The strange thing about it was how no one on my team or the enemy team went after him. So I went to go finally get the boss battle I’d waited years for. Jul killed me atleast three times and on my fourth try I got his shields low with an energy sword I got from one of his lackeys and was about to deliver the killing blow until a teammate killed him with a BR shot and teabagged his body took his weapons, (my rightful trophy’s) looked at me and started teabagging him even faster.

THIS IS WHAT JUL HAS GOTTEN! THIS IS WHAT 343i THINKS HE DESERVES!

I was stunned at what was happening in front of me and thankfully I think the player who’d stolen the kill knew he was kind of being a -Yoink-. He gave me both of Jul’s weapons and ran off.

Jul Mdama was the great character, without a doubt the best villain in Halo because no matter who you we’re you could sympathize with him. He’d lost his faith, his family and nearly his will until he broke out of prison and forged his new path to expose ONI and avenge his wife and sons.

Mdama deserves so much better he was the sign to a major turning point in Halo and was snuffed out for a reason that will likely NEVER be explained to us.

I feel sick and I want to cry because the best thing I can do for this amazing character is dedicate a forge map to what he fought for.

A shrine and crypt for Jul his, sons and his wife, three skulls to show my own failures, stands for his weapons and two infected swords to symbolize how it feels to be robbed twice.

I was looking for this topic before making my own. While I do agree with most of what you said, I’m totally pumped he is a boss. When I heard Palmer say Jul 'Mdama is killing our troops, I just about wet my pants. I was so pumped to finally take him on in the boss battle I always wanted, and now that you can’t assassinate when shields are up it would be a great challenge. Totally sucked cuz the enemy had the temple and I could never make it up to him! Totally want to take him on. It’s great that he is a boss. Now I can pretend the first mission didn’t happen and resolve Spartan Ops as my character on Fireteam Crimson finally getting the grudge match I’ve been waiting for!

As much as Jul 'Mdama deserved a better exit to the series, but I don’t think players tea bagging him is what 343i has driven his character to. If players do that, that is not in their control. I was actually pleased knowing that Jul 'Mdama is a boss in WZFF, not only due to myself disliking the way he was killed off, but I’ve always wanted to fight him in game. It may not be in the situation that I would have wished for, but I have no room to declare anything as to why Jul shouldn’t be in WZFF.

When it comes to his character being shoved away from focus this mainly has to do with many people having a distaste to Spartan Ops. So 343i seemed to wish to correct that by getting rid of anything that had to do with that. While a minority of players enjoyed Spartan Ops and at that Jul 'Mdama.

I can understand and respect people finally wanting to get their shot at him it doesn’t change how much it hurts to see that done to him toe even put him in suck an environment to allow that to happen seems wrong.

Jul was that special snowflake and deserved better. Regardless of any distaste of a set of missions (which people ironically people hated for it’s repetitiveness but demanded firefight a repetitive mode) the characters that came from it shouldn’t be cast away. TJ, Shadow Team and Crimson need some of that limelight.

Hopefully you want be subjected to what I was. I felt like I was watching Benjamin Giraud carried off on live TV. Oni gets another win and the good guys are none the wiser.

Watching this video with the explanation for why him being killed off was uncalled for, made me extremely disappointed to see 343’s change in story telling. I can see why you’re so distraught with how he is now showcased in halo 5.

I feel like he should have died fighting the arbitar on sanghelios.

If he had to die, that’s how he should of went. Dying to Thel as he told him the truth.

Jul Mdama wasn’t much of a fighter, in the war he was a shipmaster (keep in mind that’s ship not fleet like Thel).

In campaign, it wouldn’t make much sense to make a full boss fight for him. Since Warzone is a simulation, it’s a different story.

Should Jul have been taken out that easily? No.

Would it still be something easy to do with all his guards killed? Yes.

You are aware of how sangheili obtain those ranks right? No Sangheili becomes a fleet or shipmaster unless they’ve already proved themselves in battle a hundred times over. Zealots have killed hundreds of people personally and are the most venerated combatants the Covenant have. A shipmaster is a highly sought out role and for him to be considered it means he’s miles above any normal Sangheili in combat. him being a shipmaster that doesn’t’ fight much still puts him as a powerful threat to any human Spartan or otherwise.

I mean I think it’s pretty darn cool he’s in there but it is definitely a shame that he was killed off.
Rumor has it that MS ordered to cut all ties to Halo 4 so that’s why he was killed off so soon.

It may not be quite like Jul to let this occur…

But you know what?

Make it so that Jul’s death was just a body double. He wanted Halsey gone, and one of his zealots took a replica of his armor and played the part of Mdama. Here’s a further explanation on this idea.

"…I am no longer The Didact’s hand. This has been made clear by the Prometheans casting aside our alliance. With this shame I cast aside my leadership of The Storm, and all that it entails. I cannot lead this Covenant. Not anymore. The Humans may have their Doctor Halsey back. She has already been of service and has shown me the location of The Absolute Record. I will go with supplies, a contingent of my most loyal men and we will wait.

We will wait until Humanity sees what we have heard whispers of, and we will hold the key to their survival just as we did years ago."

I could only hope that’s how things went. I hated Halo 4 for many reasons, but its campaign was not one. Spartan Ops was. The extra story given via comics, and killing The Didact via comics, was. The narrative incompetence overall, was.

But I never, ever for a moment disliked Jul Mdama. He was a compelling character that was indeed an antagonist. One we were told many things about. It would be interesting to see him return from the shadows as it were, and use The Absolute Record that The Janus key showed to defeat Created forces.

Maybe this was a small apology for the fact that he died the way he did in campaign?

“Sorry guys. Here, have the fight you wanted. We made it suitable.”

In a way you’re probably right that it was a double. Hell, Locke didn’t even check Jul’s body to confirm the kill. For all we know Halsey could of been in on the whole body double plan. Why wouldn’t she? Jul still wants Oni to burn and so does Halsey, I’m sure she doesn’t forgive them for that kill order, her imprisonment OR HER ARM! The Likelihood that a genius such as herself would destroy her only means of revenge would be crazy. I wouldn’t be surprised if she did the body work or atleast discovered the materials to do the body work for Jul’s double.

Jul like Tel’cam has no reason to show himself anymore. He’s a master tactician ad would of seen his odds drop. He probably would of had some sort of faith but knew the best option was to kill himself. Let Halsey call in the UNSC send a couple of goof ball Zealots to defend his double then wait. I guess he’s turned into the Darth Vitiate of the Sangheili.

That’ does make me feel better not only for Jul living but showing that 343i isn’t incompetent.

Its a simulation. Teabagging asserts dominance. He shall be teabagged upon death by me in this simulation to show my dominance.

“Live by the nuts, get bagged by the nuts.”

I think you might of made some wrong life choices.

ONI officially confirmed Jul Mdama is dead, killed by Agent Spartan Jameson Locke. However, Locke killed an elite who just pretended to be Covenant Surpreme Leader Jul Mdama. The truth is Jul is still alive.

I hope this is a thing. I loved Jul Mdama since Spartan Ops.

I hope this is the case. No way they have Jul just chillin on top of a Cliff with only 4 Elites, not even high ranking. If he was smart, he’d set up a Decoy to escape or Distract them from something else.
