I have an Elite Xbox One, and my controller is suddenly giving the program false readings. For example, when first starting a new mission, my character will start to move forward without any input from me! I thought the problem could have been a custom controller config that somehow got downloaded to my XOne. I checked the Devices App and there were no custom configs. So, I reset all of the base configs to default, but the problem still keeps happening. It’s not nice when your character falls off a high spot and dies because he walked forward when he should have waited for my input! Is my Elite controller shot already?
Could be. My Elite controller started having problems only 3 months after purchase. It is possible that the sticks already have some drift.
If resetting the controls didn’t change anything, it sounds like a hardware problem.

OK, if that’s the case, I will probably buy a regular controller because of the high cost of the Elite. Thanks for your input.
If anyone disagrees, please keep the posts coming.
My elite controller’s right jump button came loose in 12 months of regular use, no abuse. Was expecting a little better.

You mean the bumper? RB? Yeah, the bumpers were the first thing to start having problems on mine, too.
Except mine became loos after 3 months of normal use. I would have been happy with 12. ._.

Yeah RB. It still works, however I had to wedge a little cardboard in there to keep it from coming out.
breaking in a new scuff, hoping that lasts longer.

I had been expecting more because of the heft/solid feel of it. But I suspect that is more due to the vibrators than the other internal works. The high cost is no doubt because of the adaptability rather than its longer lasting internals. Btw, I’ve also been having problems with the d-pad, but that happens in menus rather than games, but who’s to say it didn’t also happen in games, but I chalked it up to me having hit the wrong direction!?
