Here is hoping he is back on halo
I would just like to clarify that 343i IS a direct branch of MS. Meaning, that if he is working under MS, he could also be contributing to Halo, as it is MS’ biggest selling project, and he has the most experience in that field. P.S. the moment he left Bungie, i knew it meant something for Halo, particularly because IMDB says that he is working on the script for the TV series.
Yeah I’m calling BS that he’s not working with 343i. Microsoft is smart he was a KEY success to Halos success they would be fools not to get him back in the Universe.
He should write the next Halo novel. I really enjoyed Contact Harvest.

Why would you call BS when his role was already clearly defined and announced in the Polygon article. He’s not employed within 343i, he’s part of Microsoft game studios as a whole. While he could probably add indirect feedback to 343i his duties look like they encompass a far more broader aspect of Microsoft’s gaming division.
If anything Microsoft would be fools to not have Staten help brainstorm and develop new IPs from the ground up for Microsoft because he was such a solid pillar for expanding and maintaining the Halo franchise’s story once Jason Jones diverted his focus to forming the basis for Destiny post-Halo 2.
I hope he will eventually go back to working on halo in the future, that would be amazing!!!

Because he will be in charge of “all” MS IPs he will also have to work WITH 343i. And given his background with Bungie I doubt he really wouldn’t be involved a little more with Halo than with the other IPs he’ll be supervising to be honest.
