I had a deep philosophical thought about this. (Yes, I have deep philosophical thoughts about Halo, laugh now.) I was thinking, George was arguably one of the most Human spartans. Even though he was a chaingun wielding killing machine, George also (arguably) showed the most emotions out of NOBLE team. If you were o think about this, you would wonder how he became so human. George was a Spartan II, like the Cheif, but in all he was more like a person then cheif. Don’t get me wrog, I think cheif Is the reason I stick around for halo sometimes, (I love Halo’s story, too.).
So what are your thoughts? Who do you think is the most Human character, and why?
~sorry for the terrible spelling, I am working on getting spell-check on ths computer.
Because it’s a game and they can write whatever they want into the script, even if it doesn’t make sense in comparison to other spartan 2’s in the story.
I def agree that he was uncharacteristically emotional. If anything, the S-IIs would be considerably less “human” than the S-IIIs. They really wanted him for the “this is my home, so F off” side of things. If anything, he should’ve been extremely quiet and level headed and not trying to be friendly with civilians.
I agree that it is for connection on a more personal level, and It was probably to give players that liked him a reason to finish the game. I still just find it odd just exactley how human he was. But now I am just retreading…
Spartan IIs are not machines, they are all human, just some more than others. Kurt is another example of someone who was more “human” than the rest of the IIs. Just because they are stoic and disciplined doesn’t mean they are emotionless and if you’ve read the books/comics you’d know this.
Halo Reach legendary commentary says that since Jorge was a Spartan who spent almost all his time on Reach, he didn’t get to train with his other Spartans as he was one of the ones who failed the first augs but was later fixed. Because of this he got mothered a bit by Halsey, so can empathize with people (Like the one who had just lost her father) a bit more.

I never heard that about failing the first augs…and I watched the commentary. Could’ve missed it though.
Most ‘human’ of the Spartans? I dunno, by game presentation, Jorge is probably it, but if you take into account all the books, Halo’s universe never really made any claim they were any more/less than human emotionally, just that they generally had better control of their internal mechanisms, both mental and physical.
Citing for Spartans being human from books being Lucy punching out Halsey for tormenting a Huragok, some of Kurts comments to Mendez regarding the S-III training (don’t recall specifics, it’s been a long time since I read Ghosts), some of Nicole’s playful behaviors out of combat, Spartan Blue Team all caring for one another deeper than as war assets…
Halo Wars I think did the best job so far of showing how different Spartan ‘humanity’ is from what we consider ‘normal’, though. Where we show fear and terror, they apply logic to ground themselves, for instance, and that comes off as cold and inhuman, but if you look at a Spartan like another Spartan looks at them and compare it to how we look at each other, they’re really not that different.
I don’t know if I would say Jorge is the most human of all S2’s.
I mean, compared to other S2’s in the games: yes, I guess so. Or at least, he shows the most soft side out of every Spartan we’ve seen in the games. Most others are the typical “get the job done” Spartans, with the exception of PTSD-Emile and Kat I guess.
But compared to other Spartans in the Universe…nah, not really. He gets most character development in the games, but the Spartans in the books get far more than he gets in his medium.
Also, if you like being philosofical and mixing that up with Halo…read this. It looks rediculous, and some of the stuff in there is indeed just laughing stock. But it more or less uses Halo to discuss and explain some broader philosofical topics.
And yes it makes you laugh at times. I bought that book just for fun, because it looked so damn hilarious and its a good read.

> Anyone confirm this?
I watched the commentary as well and never heard anything like this.
> Jorge was a gentleman and a scholar.
>
> He wasnt emotional. He was just very emotionally stable and used that stability to fill in for others who might be lacking it at that moment.
Off topic, why does Jorge know his full name? All the Spartan-IIs had their surnames replaced with their service numbers to remove the emotional connection to their previous lives - John 117, Kelly 087, etc. The only one that had his restored was Kurt 051 when he was drafted to run the Spartan-III program, to cover up the fact that he had been a Spartan-II (and I’m not sure if it was his original name, or just one they gave him).

> Shouldn’t Jorge introduce himself as “Evan 052”?
That wasn’t his full name, He was speaking in Hungarian, Reach’s native tongue for the most part, to better introduce himself to Sarah, the girl he saved, andmake her more comfortable.
His first name is still Jorge.
