There are so many posts like this, but many are too far along for anyone to read my opinion. So here it is.

For those saying the Battle Rifle needs to be buffed, I think you are wrong. It pretty much has the same kill time as Halo 3’s did when no lag compensation was involved. (At least it feels like it.) I think it’s kill time is fair and is how it should be in the Halo Universe.

Now, the Carbine may have the fastest kill time, I think, but you have to land every shot perfectly anyow and it has a small clip compared to the other rifles.

The Light Rifle is pretty much another BR too me when looking at its Kill Time, even the extra damage when zoom doesnt have that much faster of a Kill Time, as I think it’s fire rate is reduced by a small bit.

Now, the DMR…something needs to be done. When I give my argument here, I am going to reference the BR.

So now, over my time of using all of the Precision weapons, a lot, I have noticed that the DMR seems to be the weapon of choice for all situations. It feels like it has a higher fire rate than the BR and Light Rifle, so in other words, it can make me one shot, even kill me, before I am able to fire my third or fourth BR burst. I know they actually practically have the same fire rate, but I know what happens to me in matchmaking.

I know 343 does read these forums constantly, as stated by bs angel in her recent threat about Playlist Preferences. So my opinion on balancing DMR if you do not want to mess with fire rate or bloom is maybe make it a 6 shot kill, considering it has fourteen shots in it’s clip compared to the BR’s 12 burst clip? That will hopefully balance it with the BR and LR kill times. I am no game designing expert however, so that is all I can really suggest.

So pretty much I feel all weapons are balanced with the sandbox except for the DMR. It needs some tweaking.
