Joining ongoing games: most of those are lost

I have joined several ongoing games, and I am sure you guys have too. I have been playing a lot of titanfall recently and they have a feature I would like to see in Halo. If you join an ongoing game that have been on for a while, and you join a team that is clearly losing, that match does not count as a loss/count to the loss count.

Anyone else want to see this in Halo?

I want titanfall style jip in ranked were it won’t damage your rank if jip’d

if it’s not ranked I don’t have an issue taking a loss some times I can turn it around.

I seem to join more winning games than losing one. I wonder if it had any thing to do with me very very rarely quitting. I think I only ever quite out of 1 or 2 farming games cause I just wasn’t in the mood for the challenge and I was seeing 3-10 farmers each night.

Titanfall checks if it is late-game as it is hard to turn over a 300-800(by the halo Warzone scale) points loss. It is impossible if only one or two change team but possible if 4-6 change team - but it is still very very hard.

In social that would be ideal. I’ve never understood why you get a loss if you join a losing team, or if your teammates leave and you are the only one left. That’s never made sense to me.

Ranked can’t do that though.

If there’s a couple things that Halo needs to copy from other games it’s Titanfall’s server setup and JIP system.

And things they need to bring back from previous games. Splitscreen for an instance.

Halo 5’s JIP certainly needs work. So far, the only time I see success in JIP is for Warzone FF. JIP in Action Sack is terrible.

All game types: I have joined and got returned to the lobby because the second I joined was a few seconds from victory/loss. I have lost while being able to play for 0.000000001 second.

Just joined an arena game losing -1(my team) vs 14 points. Big team slayer

Yes i agree. I think the worst feeling is putting on a ultra rare boost, and then joining in a game that literally has like no time left. Which then is an instant loss.

It’s already been confirmed that this won’t happen due to hardware limitations with the XBONE.

Trust me, as much as I want to shoot down some covenant with a friend, it just simply isn’t going to happen.

but all of these things aside: They should put their focus to even battles. IN a single match I normally fight and have players on team level between 1-150. I am level 74, but I very very rarely play against and with players on level 74 ± 10 levels. Those on higher levels are on higher levels for a reason: They either buy req packs or play 19 hours a day.

If I buy halo 4 I can play splitscreen. It is possible, I think it is coder-limitations.

The issue is how they refined their current engine. It’s not the console that is the issue, it’s 343 making their engine not co-exist with split screen working alongside other features. If other games on Xbox one can do it, it’s not limitations from the Xbox, it’s the devs making their own engine not work with it in mind.

For this reason I’d like to see them implement a +/- system like they do in the NBA. It may never replace win pct because it too has some flaws/exploits, but it’s still another data point to help the story. It gives you incentive to try and turn a would-be 600 point WZ loss into a 300 point WZ loss.

I really like the idea of a +/- point spread for Warzone. We used to have “Fantasy Draft” nights where our community would draft two teams from our player pool and they would search matchmaking. Team with the highest +/- would be the victor. It was a lot of fun.

Back to JIP though, I really applaud 343 for implementing it. For those of us that like to play more competitively, it’s nice not to be screwed over when someone lags our or quits early. That said, it does need a little refinement as mentioned here. I agree that Titanfall’s system is one that 343 should take a look at and see if they can implement.

needs to be fix, there was a post from comedyshermit talking about this, dont know how to tag him, but he had great insigths about the subject.

Makes sense to implement this.

I’d like this. I’ve joined a game with about 10 kills until we lose. How is that really my fault? We can’t make a historic comeback suddenly. It’s not the biggest thing in the world, but it can be slightly annoying.

I agree, and Titanfall also gives you the win if you turn it around. There’s an incentive to try when joining late. I posted this before = 343i could learn a lot from Respawn.

There are four types of comebacks: possible when the score is “balanced”
medium when there is a somewhat noticeable gap in score
hard when we are talking about 100’s of points in difference
and impossible when the score is(sample, not limited to) 400-970

Most ongoing games are hard or impossible. A few are possible or medium and some you win, but there are fewer of those(at least for me)
