Joining as an air nerf advocate

I was initially against an air nerf as I hadn’t had the problem of not being able to kill an army of air… Until this point. Going from an advantage to complete and utter destruction do to air is ubsurd. In a 2v2 we pushed and nearly wiped out one of our oponents until the other showed up with an army of hornets. Naturally I rebuilt my army with anti air. 15 wolverines with all 3 vehicle upgrades were no match against his army of hornets. 15 should be plenty! That’s 60 pop in just wolverines not to mention at least 4 or 5 fully upgraded marines in the mix. I shouldn’t have to build into full pop anti air to beat full pop air. At that point they are no longer anti air, they are lucky to trade 1for 1. In my case I couldn’t even do that, I simply lost all my units for a trade of maybe 5 hornets. My suggestion is lower hornet hp. At air tier 3 they have way more health than wolverines can compensate for in dps. They shouldn’t have ease of movement, massive damage, and absurd health. Even in HW1 wolverines near decimated an army of hawks in seconds, and hawks were used all the time because they were great, just not unbeatable.

There is no way that many teched Wolverines would lose to a hornet ball. Did you mircro them away? Were leader powers in the mix?

You should need 80 pop to win for the unit to win on a 1.5 ratio. That being said 60 pop will win if you have other units in the mix for a full 120.

Micro was definitely an issue due to the chokepoint I was trying to manage around. Still his army was stationary and unfortunately aa likes to try to attempt massive overkill on the first hornet it sees so he was able to focus down each of my wolves. Not saying I shouldn’t have lost the engagement, just irritated that I only managed to destroy a handful of hornets and subsequently lost both of my bases and my allies base in the process.

They want you to use marines to be the anti-air only problem is they are not strong enough to handle the job and also so slow on the movie. Your only option is to go massive air once more.

Exactly what Metaloid said, 60 pop is enough of AA and some other units mixed in.
If Micro was an issue and you sat there taking hits from LPs then theirs your reason.
