While not a fan of JIP, I understand and have accepted that it is an eventuality of playing solo. That being said, it seems that 1 out of every three games I JIP in the last round of a losing game with no ability to respawn. This seems especially prevalent in Action Sack. Anyone else experiencing this?
JIP seems a little ridiculous if you don’t even get a chance to play.
Respawn in a few Action Sack modes is a bit broken. The Action Sack playlist overall is having some bugs and issues. In fact, from what I gather, it’s up right now as a sort of beta for us to test the modes and such, then they’re gonna take it down, fix & patch up bugs that are reported, remove/replace unpopular gametypes, and put it back as a permanent. But that’s just what I hear.
But besides that, I think Join in Progress in general should follow these rules:
No JIP in ranked playlists (we’re good here).
No JIP after 60% of the match’s time limit has passed.
Also, playlists that are not ranked and include JIP should have more relaxed quit penalties (still have them, just more relaxed). That way, if you’re getting farmed or can’t respawn, you can peace out without getting banned.

I hadn’t heard that about Action Sack being in a quasi-beta. That makes me feel a lot better!
You’re JIP rules make sense too. Like I said I don’t really like JIP, but accept it as part of the game.

While I agree with most of your key points here, you’re missing a 4th. The greatest of all.
JIP in the Breakout matches… Now lemme tell you how boring it is to join a match of Mantis Slayer when the games at 2/3 for both teams, or TankWorld, or Paintball Junkies…
Almost 1/2 the rotation is Breakout. Actually, Sumo is a 1 life round, so that makes half the rotation (Since there’s only 8 maps) annoying to play when it’s the final round and you can only spectate.
(OP said the same, but I’m expanding the issue further)

Yeah JIP in any 1 life game types seems complicated to implement properly and annoying for that player. Those are the kind of playlists (not Action Sack, but Breakout) but that doesn’t need JIP but harsh quit penalties … which I think it does, right? I’m not sure if the JIP rules apply to each mode or the playlist as a whole, but it’d be nice if they were tailored to each mode so Action Sack Breakout matches didn’t have it.
