Join in Progress was a complete faliure

There’s 40,000 people playing Big Team Infinity Slayer, and the matchmaking system has put me in the same 3v8 match 10 times so far. Seriously? 40,000 people, and you can only find me ONE GAME?

Choose a different playlist, or wait until the match is over.

Join in progress, or any matchmaking system, pairs you with the game that has the best connection and is in need of players.

I have yet to have a problem with JIP in Halo 4, and have won 90% of the matches it has thrown me into. If I didn’t win, I lost by only a couple of kills.

The Join in Progress is really a failure in itself.

If you’re losing a game, there is a better chance that more people will leave your team, leaving spaces open in the losing team for players to join. Well, if you’re searching for a game with the JIP system, that means that you are most likely going to join a losing team.

I have never joined a winning team.

The only upside I see is that the losing team gets the quitting players replaced. But that is rather unfortunate for the joining players, isn’t it?

Fortunate for you, but surely the key reason for people quitting is that they’re losing. If you’re winning the game you’re unlikely to quit.

I’ve never been playing a game of FIFA for example, and the opponent is 2-0 up and quits. 2-0 down… that’s when they quit.

I know the only time I quit is when I’m losing horribly with terrible teammates in a game with no hope of winning.

I agree its a nightmare.

A few things happen to me due to JiP.

  1. Match thats so laggy its almost unplayable or is unplayable.
  2. in a match thats thats almost over so i cant even try to save my team.
  3. A match where the team i join is completely outnumbered.
  4. Put on a team of idiots against quite a good team and the score is roughly 80 - 300. Im not that great at Halo but everytime this happens its basically 1v4.

These issues cause me to quit fairly often so something really needs to be done :frowning:

Games should never start with an uneven amount of players. Ever.

I loved when I literally joined 3 dominion matches in a row where the enemy team had 390, 370 and 380, to my JIP-teams score of 170 or lower… didn’t 343 say that the JIP was supposed to not put you into games that END IN 5 SECONDS… the 390 one, I literally spawned, ran five feet, and game over, have a loss

JIP is really bad. Can’t tell you how many times it’s thrown me in a game that was on the defeat screen. And yeah that counted as a loss on my record, so dumb.

So I now do the network trick and never have to deal with garbage JIP again =) Starting matches from the beginning 100% of the time is how it should be.

You’re really unlucky then. I’ve won almost every match I got into during launch week.

Don’t narrow it down so much. H4 itself is a “complete failure.”

Not complete, but fairly close.

JIP isn’t a complete fairly. Honestly, I like it.

Lets say JIP wasn’t the game. When one of your teammate leaves the game that spot will never be filled and your team is forced to play one man down. And other teammates get discouraged and leave themselves.

Now with JIP people who leave are always refilled with other people quite quickly. Sure it is annoying entering matches that are almost over but if you wait for a bit the spots get filled pretty quick.

bad/afk teammates= im gone.
