One match? It will happen a lot…
EDIT: Of course you will get in the losing team almost every single time, because they need another teammate. It would be unfair to put you in the winning team, that increases their chances to win even more.

I’m referring to a single play session. Say you come in and sit down to Halo 4 matchmaking, and you’re put in the in-progress game. If you stay in that lobby, that’s only going to happen once until you start fresh again. That’s what I meant.

I’m glad Halo finally has JIP as it will relieve the quitting problem. That being said though, if there are ranked lists in Halo 4, JIP should stay out of those.
It’s gonna be fine for BTB. It’s gonna suck in 4v4 though. People only quit in 4v4 if they are getting raped or the lag is unbearable, so anyone joining that game is gonna have a hell of a time.
Yup, destroying the integrity of every multiplayer match you ever join is an awesome addition. Stats are meaningless, games are super-random, it will actually ENCOURAGE quitting, more host migrations… Oh yes, open-lobbies definitely aren’t the one of the most amateur and senseless decisions 343 has made regarding Halo 4.

True or not, it’s a very small price to pay to finally give quitters the death blow.
Well it’s obvious that most of the people that leave will be on the losing side. So most games you join are already a lost cause. I just hope there’s an option that lets you join games normally even if it takes longer.

This is trash. The reason why people quit (usually) is because they are getting stat padded against or the other team is insanely good. People refuse to cap flags or camp the oddball then rack up on kills by covering the spawns. If I join in progress and Im instantly getting spawn trapped, then thats no fun for me. I will go negative because the gamers before me failed to do their job
Wasn’t sure about this at first but now I’m all for it.
Nothing worse than player snipers on Boardwalk and the opposite team quits out when the
score is 4-0. YAY for 11 minutes of running around trying to find that one guy that’s
stubborn enough to stay.
I really don’t have any problems with what has been announced in Halo 4, because I don’t fear change and all…
but join in-progress is a recipe for disaster.
I don’t want to be forced to join a game that others quit out of, for whatever reason. I want a clean game with three teammates matched against a team of four, everybody starting simultaneously at spawn, nobody with any huge advantage. Join in-progress puts me in a game that, 9 times out of 10, people quit out of because they got hammered. So now I have to spawn in some quitter’s place while the other team prances around with power weapons? Not to say I’m not up for the challenge, but that isn’t really what I signed up for. Any of you ever play Monday Night Combat? Do you remember what happened when you joined a match in-progress? The other team was moonwalking all over your spawn ring. You left spawn, you died. That sound like fun? It shouldn’t, because it wasn’t at all.
Halo has always been about being much more even-handed in its competitiveness, in the way the game is balanced, and in the way the teams spawn. Join in-progress just says "nah, screw it. People can come and go as they please. I would’ve thought that I’d like the concept behind JIP, but while quitting is a problem, join in-progress is a finger in the proverbial dam. It’ll stop the flow, but why not address the leak directly?
Quitter’s Hell, baby. The answer to Halo’s quitting problem, and then some. Do it, 343. You know you want to.

I guess it will solve the quitting problem, but that is what i didn’t like about CoD, i would span with a minute left in the game, and then it would take 5-6 minutes to find a new game. I’m not the biggest fan…
