Join in Progress Matchmaking: Infinity Slayer

Anyone else frustrated with the “new and improved” matchmaking joining system? I was playing infinity slayer and watched my csr decrease game after game because I kept joining games that were already 1/2 way done. They still expect me to have the most kills and score at the end of the game. 343i has no idea what people want. Additionally, how do they even calculate csr for infinity slayer. Wins dont matter I guess. Even if you go positive and have the best score on your team and you win you scan still go down a level I figured out. There is no consistency to this game.

Anyone else as frustrated as I am?

Yes, you can go down.

For example, you might be on the winning team (that has nothing to do with CSR in individual score based CSR play lists); you may have been the highest score on your team BUT, if one or more players on the losing team has a higher score than you AND they have a lower CSR, then you’ll go down. That is exactly how it is meant to be.

From my experience in Infinity Slayer, the players with the top 4 scores (regardless of winning or losing) go up or stay the same. The bottom 4 scores go down. K/D means nothing. The games are one game behind in reflecting your rank. So if I placed top 4, I have to play another game to see how the game I placed top 4 in effected my rank. I recommend going in w/ a party of 2 or 3 for infinity slayer. It reduces the chance for getting JIP but it also gives everyone in your party a chance to level up over many games. A party of 4 will usually cause one or two players in your party to level down each game since it is rare for everyone in your party to individually out score everyone on the opposing team.

Also, worth mentioning, this kind of system takes time to settle. It seems to me that many gamers doesn´t realize this.

People want their “true skill level” after 10 games. It will probably take weeks or months before you have a CSR that match your skills.

CSR + JIP = ???

Just don’t put JIP in Halo 5. Just. Don’t.
We hate it.

Thanks 343
Much obliged.

Not all of us hate it.
