Join in Progress Love

Alright, we get it, you wanted to innovate and add something new to multiplayer… Join in progress is possibly one of the most enjoyable aspects of match making these days. There’s honestly nothing better than getting a party of four or five together, because you certainly don’t want to play together, and getting your party split and playing a map you didn’t even get to vote for. It is seriously the most enjoyable aspect of the game. I absolutely love having my best two team mates, who I didn’t want to have on my team anyway, getting placed on the opposing team that is already stacked. It’s awesome.

Please 343i, keep up the good work.

word

I also love when it puts me in games that are going to be over in a minute, or games that aren’t even worth trying to win. Thanks, JIP.

what’s so hard to fix?

Simply make it so you cannot join games that are over halfway done.
Simply make it so you can only join games with a score within 3 of each other (0 for flag).
But keep the ability for your friends to join the game whenever they want. (eg the score is 300 to 550, but you can invite your friend to join)
Also add an option when joining your friends party. "your friend is in a game playing CTF and is winning/losing by X with X time left, would you like to be queued to join now or after the game is done?

HOW HARD CAN THAT POSSIBLY BE?

I approve of this thread. One of my favourite things about Halo 4!

No, this is actually a good thing. It needs to stay as is.

Sweet, was just with a part of 5 right. Well, we get thrown into a game of CTF on Shatter… The one guy in the game we joined, AFK. The other team? Two flags capped around to our nil and a third about to cap. Even better yet, a Mantis wrecking our base.

“You’ll never join a game you can’t win.” Absolute b/s.

Thanks Kevin Franklin, thanks. Really appreciate JIP.

The only thing better is only having 3 people together, and then getting thrown into an almost finished game, where the entire enemy team has power weapons, and built up ordinances.

I was thrown into a game were one team was just standing around… I was put on that team… was me and one guy doing the work while three just stood there… Total loss, from the start, but it has its moments. Like when half your team quits, and you need backup… if it sets you up fast enough, its cool.

O4 has the best solution.

I like the general concept of JIP but in reality is what OP said happens along w/ithe game ‘losing’ players do to SEVERE LAG which should also be considered.

I love 343i’s bizarre logic of using it in FFA gametypes.

/Sarcasm

I don’t know if its true, but I read they had Lag compensation… That those not lagging would notice before those lagging. Correct me if I am wrong… or answer if I am right cause then it would explain how a teleporter has better aim then me… lol…

It was 343i’s failure of trying to copy something that works with COD and Battlefield but is in no way suited for halo type of gameplay.

So Secret, would you prefer to be on a team of 2, vs a team of 5, and not have anyone else join your team from matchmaking? You’d be happy with that?

Or would you stay happy with penalties to people quitting out of your game forcing you to stay and lose? You can’t have your cake and eat it too. It’s either, everyone participates with the ‘Join in Progress’ at all times during the match, (this includes you whiners who want a full team, but won’t join someone else’s when they’re down), or a penalization so people won’t quit out of your game because they took away J.I.P. I can’t believe the number of people who are so selfish.

The ‘quit-ban’ was far worse than having to join someone’s losing game. Suck it up and grow up.

I guarantee that if they offered 2 different playlists, one for ‘casual’ people who just enjoy playing that has J.I.P., and another for ‘hardcore’ ‘oh-so-serious-about-my-k/d-ratio’ that doesn’t have J.I.P., you’d still be complaining, and no one would use that playlist. My 2 cents.

Same. I feel its about damn time.

People who are against JIP, are probably the ones who enjoyed their teammates quitting out on them in BTB games, always leaving it like 2v8.

I’ll take JIP over that crap anyway…
