After playing Halo 4 online for the last few days, it has come to my attention that the join in progress feature is a wreck.
I have on numerous occasions been put into objective games where there is no barely any chance to come back. Add to this the fact that the other team controls heavy vehicles and are loaded up with power weapons you have no chance whatsoever.
I don’t know which bright spark over at 343 came up with the idea to implement this, but sticking me into a game where the other team is already on 120 out of 200 and my team is on 10 is pretty pitiful.
My next issue is with regicide. Sticking me into a game that has started and then king is on 150 is stupid. I understand the feature is there for team games but FFA regicide? Doesn’t make sense again. Quitting and allowing some other poor sucker to enter my predicament is the only way to fix this.
I correct these silly errors by simply quitting until I am put into a game that is in voting phase.
For the love of god, please either fix this big time to the point where you only join if scores are level or 1-3 kills apart or give us the option to disable “JIP”.
Personally I do not want to join a game in progress. I want to be on a level playing field from the start of the game and know who I’m playing against. Not half way in when the scores are one sided and the game is gone.
This system is causing more problems then it is solving.
Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeese fix this crap.

TLDR: The system is broken and needs to be fixed ASAP as it is ruining the enjoyment of matchmaking.

I hope 343 isnt too stubborn to accept its a problem and make tweaks, or even better yet remove it all together.

Very correct sir. I absolutely forgot about this. I will update the OP. I have experienced this many times. TBH I’m just pissed at how silly the feature is and the fact that 343 were acting tough without the need of a BETA. I think its time to bite the pill and take responsibility… Something that 343 doesn’t do much.
These types of things are bound to happen in all games but it would be nice to have full customization of our search options.
I’ve had quite the opposite experience, rarely have I been put into a game where I stood no chance at all… Twice that I can account for.
The majority of my games have either been right near match start or evenly scored when further along.
The join in progress system is ridiculous!
I get 1v4’s all the time.
I get thrown into games where opposing team has 4 flag caps and my team 0.
I just had a wonderful 3v3 game with my To3 vs another To3. It was so fun and so competitive (Slayer Pro-playlist). But then, at 420-400 (our lead) the opposing team gets a JIP-player, and the whole game gets ruined, and we lost big time!. No one in their right mind would enjoy this, or find it acceptable!
I can’t understand how 343i could think this would work! If this continues I will never touch Halo 4 again!

You are quite the lucky chap my friend. Complete opposite for me. I’m at level 30 with no double EXP or anything and it has been an absolute pain. Quit a fair amount and have just AFK’D the rest as its just insane at how stupid this is.
Wohooo! I just got thrown into a game where my team had 0 kils and opposing teams had 26 kills (260 score)!
