Join in progress is AWESOME!!!

I really appreciate being thrown into games down/up 100+ points. Please keep this system, it is effective and useful for a competitive multiplayer experience.

My other favorite part about this system is how I join a playlist with a party of 4, and lose two of my teammates to the other team.

I love join in progress so much and I’m so happy that 343 added it to the day… especially the part where the game starts with 7 players in a 4v4 playlist when there is over 50k players online.

Thank you casual community for supporting this system and allowing 343 the opportunity to turn the Halo multiplayer experience into Price is Right’s Plinko.

I see what you did there.

What do you mean? Price is Right is the ultimate competitive experience. Sometimes, you play and you already lost. Other times you play, and you win… Just because. What’s NOT competitive about that?

What we really need now is more competitive gametypes like Regicide though too. We need, more games like TEAM FIESTA.

My other want/need is the ability to get achievements and XP from merely breathing on my controller. You see, we don’t have enough awards in this game, we should add that, and another award that we call “You touched the controller, you win.” … as in you join a game, look through the stationary camera for the level and gain 1,000,0000 XP and unlock 900 helmets.

Thank you 343, after spending countless man-hours promoting Halo 4 with paid endorsement with MLG, you did your own thing anyways and you really managed to nail the real depth that this series was lacking.

I mean imagine if match making handled pick-up basketball games at your local play ground:

You:
Ok, so guys we have 6 players, lets do some 3 on 3, score is 0-0, first to 21!

Halo4 matchmaking:
No, absolutely not. What you really need is 5v1. However, the team of 5 is up by 19 in a game to 21 and you have 9 minutes left…BUT! They don’t want to score, they just want to bounce the ball off your face the whole time.

You:
… ok?

  1. I like Halo4, it has a lot of potential. Your matchmaking system is the worst in all the Halos. Halo:CE doesn’t count because it had none, so you beat that. Please, make the matchmaking logical again and stop wasting gamer’s time with pointless matches. It’s bad enough you get XP for everything anyways. Why can’t we just start from 0 and play a game? Why can’t I turn it off. It’s just… :frowning:

Totally agree with this post

I think I pooped in my pants a little I’m laughing so hard.

Seriously though I just joined a BTB game where the enemy team had two banshees and two mechs circling my base.
Thanks 343, im having a really fun time.

Even matches? Psssssh so 2011!

I’ve actually seen JIP matches (and been a part of) ones where a team has been down fairly big only to get a bigger group of fairly skilled players and managed to make a comeback. It was the right thing to do by 343.

Don’t knock it,take it as a challenge, you want competitive, then suck it up and go make it a comeback win, now that’s intriguing matchmaking.

So what about when the margin is too high or the game is too close to finishing? How is that fair for the skilled players if they would have beaten the other team if the game started 0-0?

Lets not forget the multiple times games start uneven and remain unever throughout the game. Thanks JiP.

No it isn’t. It just means the people you beat were idiots. I can win lopsided games too, but that doesn’t make it any less stupid of a system. It’s a little depressing to see that you don’t see the problem with it. This isn’t like a preference, it just turns EVERY playlist in Halo into party game.

From what I have seen firsthand and from what people are saying, it seems that JiP seems to be like General Custer’s Last Stand, with the team that you join being Custer…and there is a reason why its called his last stand.

This is so ignorant. He must like plinko.

Ya and while I’m at it ill just squeeze some lemon juice into my eyes and smash my thumbs with a hammer, that’ll make it even more of a challenge.

Am I the only one who has joined the winning team, and no the end of a match, due to JiP?
Like, the past 4 games that I joined in late in had me start on the winning team all within the first minute or two of the match.
Guess I’m just lucky

Isn’t it satisfying winning that way too? Like man, you earned it.

Of course I did. My competitive skills are so totally awesome.

Am I the only one to drop into a match 200 points down and bring it back to win?

Am I that clutch? Guess so.

Stop complaining and play–I don’t see why you people complain so much.

I was placed into a King of the Hill game today where the opposing team had ~140 points and mine had 8. They won within 10 seconds of my spawning because I didn’t even have time to get a line of sight on the person in the hill.

Explain to me how this is useful and how I should take this as a challenge. Also, please explain how I am to overcome such a deficit when I didn’t even have enough time to ATTEMPT to stop the enemy team.

I agree. To the people saying use it as a challenge: you wouldn’t try to play a high school basketball game and be like, “no its ok. Start with a 10 point lead, we like a challenge.” NO! You would be agree and consult someone about it immediately. And don’t say that’s different, because it’s really not. You may say halo means nothing, you’re right. But neither do a lot of things to many different people. But to someone it does.

Contribute your experiences with it here so we can try and single out all the problems with it and come up with some possible solutions.
