He could have been reincarnated as an AI or even a marine in the background of a cutscene, just any reference to Johnson or Johnson getting that woman in this game (Halo 4) would have been nice to see in the campaign or SpOps

Because then every one would have another thing to complain to 343 about. They’d all be saying how they’dve raped the canon, which I too some degree agree with.

Because he got away in a pelican before the ring was destroyed. He actually DIED in Halo 3.
I’d like to see an appearance in a similar fashion to the conan obrien, or the RVB (halo 3) easter eggs. Maybe at the beginning of the shutdown level, in some random room.

I’m just sayin he can still be alive if he survived an explosion that destroys a Halo ring.

Last time I saw him in Halo CE he was hugging an elite and the ship was exploding. Chief barely made it out alive so him escaping in a pelican would make no sense at all. Atleast not to me.
Halo CE’s Legendary ending isn’t canon.
He left the ring before Master Chief blew it up in a Pelican with an ODST, an ONI high-rank and a pilot and hid in between the debris field when it was destroyed.

The Legendary ending of Halo 1 is not canon. Also how Johnson and others got off the ring was shown in Halo: First Strike, which came out 9 years ago.

Because he didn’t die in Halo CE, he actually died in Halo 3.

The only difference is that he’s dead by Spartan Ops… In fact, he has been 5 years and one month dead by then.

5 years, 1 month, 28 days to be exact.
Johnson died on December 11, 2552. Spartan Ops begins on February 8, 2558. Six months after the events of Halo 4’s campaign.
I think he should have definitely appeared as an easter egg, but not canonical appearing in the game.
I can’t agree more. Since Halo 2’s outtakes practically called for it, one would expect at least a single easter egg.

There is a IWHBYD dialoge in the Campaign pelican bay. A spartan 4 asks chief about Johnson. Check it out. I found a way to concetrate the IWHBYD dialoge in that area. Punch all NPCs till they are in a crouched stance. Then you can push them all into 1 area. Then simply stand in the middle and listen. I sincerly hope there are more major campaign eggs yet to be found. Johnson included.
