John's flashlight/headlamp...

I don’t see any sign of it in the Halo 4 controller config pictures. I guess 343 forgot to leave room on the discs for NOSTALGIA!

Or the batteries finally died.

R.I.P.

D-pad possibly? I don’t think its being used for anything besides ordnance, and I think the control layouts they were showing were for MM.

Grenades are on the D-Pad and so is the mic.

We won’t need it. All the maps, even the dark/night ones, seem to be bright and not many darkened areas.

Dang. I cant think of anything then. Looks like the the lights gone out.

no we need it in Campaign the Chief isn’t the same without it … pre-order canceled ;(

That made me lol, but I feel like I will miss it, like when searching for Easter eggs, or for deep exploration.

Also want to point out that with the new dynamic lighting engine, the flashlight could become a very fun tool to use while playing.

A flashlight in flood would be awesome!!

nightvision will more likely take its place unfortunately

I’m willing to bet the flashlight will be ‘Up’ on the D-Pad in campaign since the D-Pad has little use in the campaign aside from grenades. The Chief wouldn’t be the same with out his lights.

This isn’t a big deal. I can’t even think of any point in Halo 3 where the flashlight was necessary, and I imagine Halo 4 will be the same way.

Back in april when 343 was talking about the redesign and the functionality of the Chiefs armor, someone said that the flashlight now would pop out of his helmet.

You guys should probably double-check the E3 Campaign Reveal. Remember when Chief activated some sort of VISR or Promethian Vision mode before he spotted the large swath of Promethian Knights near the end? Yeah, that’ll do.
