John will KILL Cortana in the flesh

little theory I thought about.

Cortana gets ahold of the Halo ring in the legendary ending. On her spree of turning biological life into digital through using the composer and the halo ring she is finally able to create her self into organic life. She manages to trap John away from blue team on a mission that is trying to stop her from decimating another planet. Finally she reveals her self to him. John is obviously stunned and just how she goes out to touch him like at the end of Halo 4. She does. Then John shoots her in the chest. To stop the deaths of innocents, knowing it can’t go back to what it used to be, to become human.

I’d honestly like to do that to H5!Cortana. She’s just evil in every sense of the word and she’s ruined a lot of my enjoyment in the Halo story. I can’t believe 343 defended that genocidal maniac.

But one question: Why would Cortana turn herself human now? She doesn’t seem to want to be organic anymore. She’s not personally suffering the pain or rampancy and she can get almost anything she wants through the Domain and her Guardians.

This is currently under discussion in the thread “Cortana theory”. We’ve adressed why Cortana probably does not want to become human anymore, at least for the time being. Come and join the discussion.

She definitely doesn’t seem like she wants anything to do with being “in the flesh”. Though the Idea of chief killing her in the flesh is interesting to think about

I would be about it but it’s very unlikely.

You may already know, but it’s (unofficially) accepted that the Cortana we see in H5 is just an immortal rampant fragment Cortana left behind, as the Cortana we knew died with the defeat of the Ur-Didact. So we can feel good about putting her down, because /our/ Cortana is already dead; this is just a ghost that inhabits her “body”.
