John Locke

John Locke was a known Philosipher in England at the start of the revolutionary war. He was regarded as “as one of the most influential of Enlightenment thinkers and known as the “Father of Classical Liberalism”.” it was stated that "Locke’s theories were “mentioned so rarely in the early stages of the [Glorious] Revolution, up to 1692, and even less thereafter” but then became popular after. Does this have anything to do with Locke? Let your voice be heard.

Well, Agent Locke’s full name is Jameson Locke.

But there is no doubt a connection between the choice of his name. 343i has shown to be pretty good at subtle hints and deeper meanings.

*I only meant a connection between his last name not the first probably should’ve mentioned that.

You know the map called Lockdown? Hmm… Agent Loke and Steve Downes (John 117)… Lokedownes! There must be a correlation between the Multiplayer map lockdown and Master Chief and agent Loke!

don’t think theres a relation it’s had Lock in the name since the release.

i see no connection

There are two playable Protagonists in this game: John & Locke.

I wondered the same thing a while ago, OP (my thread is probably buried here if you dig enough). I dug through some of John Locke’s ideologies and couldn’t really find anything that connects to Halo.

ODST follows Dante’s Inferno (Virgil? get it?), and there are countless other examples of mythology used in Halo, so it wouldn’t surprise me in the least if there was a philosophical connection. I don’t think you’re crazy

Maybe it’ll become more apparent as we learn more whether it’s a coincidence or not. Just keep thinking outside the box; it’s good for you.

That was before 343 though. Bungie was great at that, but it hasn’t yet carried over to it’s new caretakers, but I get the feeling with H2A and Halo 5, they might be getting better with it. Guess we’ll see

There is a definite possibility. Perhaps this could be a hint to what kind of actions we can expect from Locke in the future.

The main connection to social theory is that both protagonists want the best for humanity. Their names together is John Locke.

Half Life 3 Confirmed! ^
Just as good a theory as OPs if I do say
