John and Locke

The way it should have went.

I don’t think Chief would be so loose during a fight, but it’s better than the official.

At first I thought this was reference to Lost, but unfortunately not.

john should not have lost

In halo 5 they both left alive in their first encounter which showed that Locke could hold his own weight as a new character. As a Spartan in the legacy games John was the only Spartan you see besides halo 3 multiplayer female option (if that can even have lore). Since halo reach, 4, and 5 you started seeing more Spartans and like every other super hero comic book you always see the hero’s fight each other like “Super Man vs Batman” for the sake of the question from the fans “who would win and how it would go down?”. So “Enter Spartan Locke” then next time you John (infinite to my knowledge) he fixed his visor and got Mark gen 3 armor. Will Locke get a Yep Yep Titan Fall mech?

This was actually surprisingly good! I mean it was brief and very silly but definitely didn’t look amature at all. I really thought the choreography of the fight scenes in H5 were very lackluster and the impacts of the chief hits in this 60 second parody almost felt like they had more weight to them than the actual AAA produced game showed us. Thanks for sharing this if more of these get made I will probably watch them.

As much as id agree john could kick locke’s butt any day, i feel like it makes kind of a little sense that john didnt obliterate locke since id expect him to hold back against anyone that isnt an alien threatening humanity.
John didnt get to feel human very much throughout his life so I feel like he is always trying not to become the demon that the covenant refer to him as, bet that always made him feel like he didnt belong hence his attachment to cortana and all that.

Except they’re all about catching up to chief.

Even when chief isn’t on screen, the game’s about chief.

In Halo 2, the half of the missions were not on the Chief, but he had a real story, he was a heroe. In Halo 5, he was presented as the bad guy (weird done) and his final battle to stop Cortana had no chance of success.

I’d actually say the opposite. Chief was irrelevant in halo 2. The schism was going to happen anyway. Truth was already arming brutes before chief blew up Alpha Halo, and he was already having them replace elites when he killed Regret. All chief does after that is bumble around high charity before eventually leaving, and the people he was at one point chasing ended up getting to earth either at the same time or before him anyway.

Chief is the entire drive of the plot in halo 5, even if he’s wrong. Being wrong doesn’t necessarily make you the villain.

Chief had an interesting story in Halo 2, maybe not relevant at the end, but he was the face of Halo 2. In Halo 5, everything is make to replace him, and that don’t work

The whole point of Halo 5, and Osiris specifically, is to retrieve Chief and Blue team because they’re too important to lose. There isn’t this ‘step aside, old man!’ vibe being presented. I think people take the notion of ‘more playtime’ as unequivocal evidence of attempting to usurp Chief while failing to see that the story was centered around Chief’s importance.

Was Halo 5 handled poorly? I believe so, but UrbaneRocket495 does have a point that the focal point of the story is Chief, even if he doesn’t get the most screen time.

  • Chief is the heroe of Halo, the reclaimer trilogy is about him, so play with him for just 3 mission was a surprise and a shock
  • Cortana evil and chief barely present at once, seriously ?
  • Chief was introduced as the villain to stop, which was abberant
  • Blue team was barely introduced, despite their importance in the books and the Chief’s past

So, not everything was bad in this game, but Chief didn’t receive the treatment he deserve and a lot of people didn’t like that.
