This is strictly a hypothetical, because I’d say that the likelihood of a battle between these two actually coming to fruition rests at about 50-50%.
Who do you think will win?

Depends. I feel if Locke has the advantage of surprise and some tools Chief does not, he could win. Could is the key word, not will.
In almost every situation, Chief would win. He’s got better training, better discipline, much more experience (he’d been fighting the Covenant for 10 years by the time Locke became an orphan at age 6), presumably the new armor he has in Halo 4 is just a good as any Spartan-IV’s, and the Librarian “evolved him” in Halo 4 as well, whatever that means.

All it takes is one bullet from a SRS99-S5 AM sniper rifle to the back of John’s skull, while he’s busy “finding his humanity”. But knowing John’s luck (aka:plot armor), the bullet will probably develop suicidal tenancies and then “off-itself” on the way to Chief’s head.
Chief
Double Post
I would said Chief, but we don’t know Locke skill’s. So I have a feeling he could win.
Tell me when Locke kills a God, then we can compare the two.
I would say Chief because of his experience only.
We’ve seen Locke in battle only once, where he jumps on the back of an (incompetent) Sangheili and manages to incapacitate him without any augmentation or MJOLNIR help. He has also proved himself to be very cunning, putting details together quickly and coming to a conclusion before anyone can gain the upper hand. His mind serves him well, even without the help of an A.I. With his augmentations and armor, I wouldn’t be entirely surprised if he managed to best even a Spartan II in battle.
Locke may be a great warrior, but Chief has his entire lifetime of experience and more plus the most intense training any humans have ever experienced. Spartan II’s are truly the ultimate soldier, couple that with experience and thats a difficult match. In a head to head battle I have little doubt Chief would win.
chief
Locke could win, if he got the jump on chief. but in the other 99% of the situations chief would win.
Master Chief will die when his role as the librarians tool is done. Therefore its impossible for Locke to kill him til that moment arrives.

Well if by turn into a digital essence when you say kill a god, then yes Chief did kill a god.
Based on feats? Definitely Chief, but we don’t know what Locke is capable of. I’m certain Chief will win, but if ONI chose Locke to hunt Chief down, there has to be a specific reason for that.

This. If locke has more than 2 brain cells he wouldn’t face him head on 1v1. He’d go for surprise. In a direct fight chief would win. With surprise it’d just be more “plot armor lol”, but locke could always go to incapacitate over kill.

Except Locke said he wants to know why Chief left so the chances of him just up and sniping him are slim.

Yea John will look down at the ground while the bullets coming for him, and see a penny. So he’ll bend down, the bullet will fly over him plus he’ll increase his luck further. lol
There will be no fight between the 2.

master chief coud litterally take a sniper shot to the head and it woud be like him shooting locke with a m6c, and that thing sucked
Chief would win, but then Locke seems very motivated and plus I don’t personally think Locke wants to kill John… Simply wants answers.
