John 117: Born lucky or Librarians master plan?

Just a thought. Was john 117 really born lucky or was it the librarians master plan which unfolded in halo 4-5?

Librarian

Johns luck is “durability” , [the swift hand of Fate], [ The safety of following a well treaded path, with firm roots embedded into the foundation of the whole world], [ the logically inescapable consequence of a fundamental law of physics taken to an extreme]. A gift awarded to one who has seen the end and will see the beginning of everything (he will be there when “the world goes dim and cold”, at the worlds end, at the close, as the material world of particles clash, and life gets stuck in the folds) . His luck proves one thing above anything else; the Master Chief predates and will outlive the stars. [ He is Destiny].

Both.

More Lucky. Its a common theory be some lore fans that if any Spartan-II was on Requem they would get a similar treatment from the Librarian. It was just Luck John was there.

Now that quote is rampant Spark.
The first time timeline wise that we was rampant in the Halo CEA’s terminals. And well he was never truly stable as shown as he finally goes into full Rampant in Halo 3.

So I would not trust that line as absolute fact. But more as Spark was Rampant. So he might of not been seeing clearly

It was deliberately planned by Mendicant Bias at the end of the Halo 3 Terminals.

“And so here at the end of my life, I do once again betray a former master. The path ahead is fraught with peril. But I will do all I can to keep it stable - keep you safe. I’m not so foolish to think this will absolve me of my sins. One life hardly balances billions. But I would have my masters know that I have changed. And you shall be my example.”

His success really comes down to luck, the Librarian’s Geas and being chosen by Cortana. The Librarian left seeds that would lead to the Spartan-II Program, Cortana and MJOLNIR Armour. Cortana and Halsey has a clear role in her plan, and they both see innate value in John-117. I think it’s clear that John-117 had a special place in the Librarian’s plan.

It kind of sucks that Halo 5 didn’t elaborate further on his physical evolution. I had expected it to be a sensitivity towards the Domain.

There’s a difference? I mean seriously, we can’t even discredit this idea in real life without the possibility of the thought forever lingering sub-consciously.

John-117 may now have a special place in the Librarian’s plan, but he was not born with some kind of special destiny placed on him specifically by the Librarian or the Geas.

The Librarian’s seeds led to things like the Spartan program and MJOLNIR armor, but again I think saying that it led to Cortana herself (and not simply led to advancing AI to the level Cortana has reached) is assigning way too much specificity. The Librarian uses Cortana as an example of the eventualities she set into motion (because she’s a human AI present and because she is so advanced), which isn’t the same as saying she planned for Cortana. Cortana isn’t special because of that line any more than John’s specific suit of MJOLNIR he’s wearing at that moment is special.

John made it to the Librarian because of his luck and the fact that he is at the peak of humanity’s advancement. He’s not even the objectively “best” Spartan. Halsey doesn’t have any special role or place in the Librarian’s plan either, not any more than any other genius in human history who has pushed our advancement.

There was no point where the Librarian planned out John as a human being, she just took steps which would eventually lead to soldiers and technology of his level. John isn’t a “chosen one” by birth (though he may be some kind of ‘chosen one’ now, because of whatever the Librarian did to him in Halo 4).

If nothing else, we know neither Cortana nor John are specifically special to the Librarian’s plan, because she planned for Humanity to have advanced far beyond what they are in the Halo universe. She had to intervene and accelerate John’s physical evolution because the plan fell apart. By her plan, the Didact would have awoken peacefully and helped advance humanity forward. The humanity of 255X was far from the Librarian’s endgame.

Your theory makes sense, until we realize that Halo is a fictional universe, where intentionally ambigious statements such as that are mysteries with definitive answers in the mind of writers, who one must hope have a plan in mind that will have a pay off at some later point in the fiction. Do you actually think for a tiny fraction of a second that Joseph Staten wrote that line, and two betrayals because plot twist, Guilty Spark was rampant and thought you were the Iso-Didact but he’s just nuts! I honestly have to giggle when theories like that get thrown around as if its actually the position of a skeptic. Why is the achievement for completing Halo 4’s mission “Infinity” on par time called “Oroborous”? Why was Didacts and the Librarians arc in the Halo 3 terminals written to mirror Master Chiefs and Cortanas arc? Even Frankie admitted as much in an interview back in 07. Who did Alex Seropian, one of two of Bungies original co-founders, claim Master Chief was? How does all of this tie together? What is the “tru7h”? You have no idea how many easter eggs and references, small and large they hide in plain sight, and around every corner. I haven’t deciphered everything, i’m sure i’m off the mark about somethings, and they certainly left a lot of room to flesh out details and pivot certain storylines, and create new ones, before they get where they’re headed, but I am confident I am closer than most to seeing the bigger picture.

I watched as a great architect , came and gave shape to a place at a cross roads between many places and many times, an ancient garden, she called it “[Eden]” and another called it “Edom”, and only I know the truth of it. The gate to the garden rests on sand as red as the rust that now graces its walls. The Garden grows into yesterday and into tommorrow, and a temple was therein, which the ancients called the temple of apollo, and from the perspective that she was afforded by where she stood, did she plant seeds and watch them grow in the blink of an eye, and where they did err, did she also correct them, and where they were led into ruin, did she set forth the conditions that they might prevail. The seeds weren’t plants, and she was very precise. Two among them were more important than the others, and she watched their whole lives before her eyes, from that vantage point, where past and future meet, and it was here that she learned of her past, and that of her husband, and it was here that she decided their future, [there relationship has durability] [ it is complex and perhaps eternal]. Cortana was originally planned to be the thousandth life, Halsely was nine hundred and ninty nine, that was until the Librarian saw a truth hidden away behind her own mind. She follows a “pa7h” that goes on forever, she is one of the timeless creatures in primordial space, she is Precursor. Cortana is, or at very least is becoming, the Dark, and John is Destiny (fate). The Garden is black now, and so is her heart. They meet there quite regularly, there at that garden at the beginning and end of the world, she always greets him with a smile. Do not be fooled, nothing she has ever done has been for humanity.

The halo story is bigger than you think.

Both

Also, he badass. You forgot about that
