According to his IMDB, he’s currently listed as a writer for the Halo TV series.
Could this be a mistake? Or just a flat-out lie?
If true, are you more excited knowing Joe’s apart of the team? I would personally feel more comfortable knowing he’s got a say in how the series is handled.

IMDB is worse than Wikipedia, they do have a tendency to flat out lie about a lot of stuff, such as Marty being Halo 4’s composer or a rapper replacing Steve Downes as the Chief. It is all written by fans, general people like Wikipedia, but far worse.

He’s needed there more than anywhere else, even more than at Bungie; He knows Halo like the back of his hand after all. I’d feel a lot more confident in the show if he’s involved.

Upon further research, you’re probably right; IMDB is by no means a reliable source, but, we know Staten is back with Microsoft. We don’t know what exactly he’s doing there (correct me if I’m wrong).
First and foremost: Joe is a writer. I still think there’s a strong possibility -Yoink!- would sit him back on another Halo project, where his strengths are.
So… wishful thinking, basically?
It’s not like 343 is giving us anything else to work with, lol.

Both IMDb and Wikipedia are not reliable sources for who’s working on what. They can be edited by anyone and almost always is false information, or someone who is too excited and posts false information.
Until something is concrete, I wouldn’t pay attention to it.
