If your looking for players and then you see playercards coming up with their gamertag and not flashing with the word “Incoming”, then your joining a game in progress. If you want to avoid it and want to start a fresh game from the get-go, follow these simple rules to avoid JIP:
- Press Start
- Go to your network settings on the bottom tab
- Change your network from Xbox Live to either System Link or “Your Xbox 360”, anything that doesn’t involve Xbox Live
- Change it back to Xbox Live and search again
- If you see that your joining another game in progress, repeat steps 1-4 until you see that your voting
- Remember: Keep an eye on the search unless you don’t care about whether or not you join a game in progress
This is just a temporary workaround until 343 releases a fix to JIP and hopefully the option to choose if you want to be able to join a game in progress or not like with the search restrictions.
This can be tedious after a while but it does help relieve you the stress of joining a game of Oddball for example and it’s 149-17 and your losing.
