JIP rennewed

When x ammount of players leave a game, making a team wholly unbalanced say 8v4 / 4v1, then the game should pause and the match should be made a priority for new players to join. When team is at a ratio of 3:4 / 75%, the game will continue.

Thoughts?

It’s not fair to pause the game for everyone just because some players decided to quit (or had a bad connection). Quitting happens way too often to make this a good idea.

There should be auto balancing. If 4 people from red team quits a 8v8 match, then 2 people from Blue team should be moved to red team on next death/respawn, to even out the teams.

No thank you. A few days ago I played Halo 4 for the first time in months, and on our first we got JIP into a game where the enemy team had the lead 38-10. We lost the game by a couple of kills where a teammate went negative 27.

JIP should not exist in Halo.

Not a good idea. What if blue team was winning substantially? It would be frustrating for a lot of players to suddenly be on the losing team.

Definitely not. I am not going to go up against my own team. Even though the teams might be evened out, the score would not and someone from the winning team, would suddenly lose.

Thank you!
I can’t tell you how many times I’ve had to hide away during games because my team was at a 8/2,4/1 disadvantage and I’m too stubborn to quit.
I personally feel like if more than half the team is missing than its not really a good game anyway, more of a map hunt so pause it and fill in the missing players.

As far as team switching, I say leave it to customs.

I’m fine with JiP… However, if the teams are that unbalanced with no JiP, then there needs to be a surrender option (one chance vote that doesn’t pause game play) so people don’t have to suffer through unbalanced games… Kudos, however, to those who pull off a 4/1 win though.

Well then, it’s either that or JIP. Personally I wouldn’t mind both.

I somewhat like this idea. Medal of Honor Warfighter does this in the start of the game, it waits still there’s at least 2 fireteams(Total of 4 players) on each team before the game will start.

In Medal of Honor(2010) it would have a preround until 4 players joined the game.

‘We now enforce a minimum player count of 4 on consoles. You will still be able to move around freely in preround, but the match doesn’t officially start (and thus no stats are affected) until at least 4 players have joined.’

I would somewhat like to see the same happen in Halo if JIP returns.

Wow just wow
How would this be a good idea/why would this be a good idea .

  1. I play with a party so if people on the other team quit I don’t want to be split and vs my team.

  2. 90% of the time when people quit it’s because they are losing / why would anybody want to go from the team that’s winning to the team that quitting because they are getting wrecked.

3.why wouldn’t we just use the JIP system to fill the spots asap .

2 words. Dedicated Servers. We are getting JIP.

Ranks and JIP don’t mix. That’s the problem as I see it.

For ranked playlists I would prefer a join in pre game lobby system. If people quit before the game starts there should be a system that delays the start of the game to let people join. Then there should be an in game forfeit system that allows players to quit without being punished if 1/2 the team quits.

JIP’s fine for social though. I still think a pre game JIP would be nice just to limit how often you are JIPed mid game. I think you should be able to see the score of a game before you join and have the option to back out if you wish. Also I think the game should discount the game score before you join so that is doesn’t warp your win/loss ratio. So if you join a game for example 12-28 down and the game finishes 52-60 that counts as a win for the JIPed player because in the time they were playing they effectively won 40-32.

Better than pausing with Armor Lock.

I’m only for this if JiP is only in social playlists.

I have to agree with Halo Junky,

. The people who don’t quit are being punished. Game just pausing would be just as annoying as a Black Screen, which you probably got plenty of times for people quitting already.

Pausing the game is rubbing the salt in even more.

The games just needs to replace quit players faster.

Some games, as soon as someone quits, a new player joins. And some times BTB games, it is 8 v 1. And no one joins for entire games.

The JIP system currently is broken. But a much improved version could work for Halo 5.

I think for RANKED games, JIP is disabled once the game has started. But players can still have friends join when in the lobby searching.

The game could blue screen you and ask the players if they want to continue or wait for more players.

Resign options are nice for when it’s mathematically impossible to win objective matches. Would solve BTB farming kills while holding last flag for example.

People had enough of a screaming hissy fit back in Halo 3 when matchmaking split parties in the pre-game lobby. How do you think people will respond when autobalancing -Yoinks!- them mid game? Autobalancing is a hard enough sell even in the progressive franchises and I fear that 343 will have a peasants’ pitch-fork laden revolt on its hands if it tried that here.

Also, the only way to “Fix” JIP is for 343 to go on belligerently using it for the issue isn’t with the mechanics (since it single handedly solves a number of issues with the minimum cost incurred to the community) but with the some people’s childish reaction to it.

“I don’t want to play games that I’ll loose!” some say. Well that may be but then again that’s precisely why we have issues with quitting in the first place (and what JIP solves.)

No pause, but keep JIP in some incarnation.

Make it optional.

Make it more seamless.

Make the game and the maps better so people are less likely to quit.

Make the gametypes more intense, the objectives worth fighting for.

Add VIGR to make people tough it out, lest their rank plummet if they quit.

Those of us who aren’t quitters will thank you.
