I just got placed into a game of CTF with a score of 0-2, and the other team made the final capture before I could even spawn in. That’s a loss I literally could do nothing about.
Yeah. JIP is a real -Yoink!- sometimes.
Joined a game just to hear that the team I joined lost. I did get 71 REQ points.
Oh the good times!

Joining a losing match should not count as a loss. I’ve mentioned the following before, Titanfall 2 does not award a loss if joining a losing match, buy it does award a win if you turn it around, it gives the joining player an incentive AND a safety net, this could and should be included in ALL games that use jip, including Halo.
JIP shouldn’t be allowed after 2 flag caps, and in slayer after half the kills are achieved by any team.

I totally forgot about this. The first Titanfall also does this or something like this. This should definitely be implemented.
Honestly, I would rather have them remove JIP all together but yet again I understand why JIP exists. I wish they add a system when the game past half-time or a sudden trend of the amount of people quitting, JIP just quits all together so no new players can join that match.

That’s a great system. I can’t think of any downsides, but there has to be a reason 343i didn’t implement this.

I agree 100%. They need to change it. Specifically so that better players arrive sooner which allows the match to become competitive again.
And I’ll tell ya: If you’re using a legendary or ultra rare match boost the system is more likely to give you one of those hopeless join in progress matches. It’s not abbreviated JIP for nothing.
It’s absolutely awful. Some days in BTB, I get multiple JIP’s in a row. same with WZ. almost always on the losing side. Action sack yesterday, JIP on Mantis breakout, 2 losses down, with one team mate on the board, about to die. Not cool, when I’m using rare + XP/RP boosts, to NOT get full use of them.

Exactly the same here… I get almost all JIP games. Then when I spawn into a game at req level 3 I have no reqs (req dimmed out) everyone on the other team has Tanks and Snipers. Total massacre. Run out of the base a get insta-killed…lol.
Like BlueChief said, they ought to just get rid of it altogether. 90% of the time the game is already lost anyway, you spawn in for 3 mins and the game is over, you get 300 points and a wasted boost.
I love it quick recovery points

That’s actually quite great.

It works great, and if 343i have a reason for not doing this I would love to hear it. Like you I cannot think of any downsides.

Yes, I’ve had this happen to me as well. They used to have a cutoff point in matches where you would no longer be able to join.
