Have killed this games multiplayer
Imo they need to remove a few certain weapons, make jip an option that you can toggle, remove insta spawns,remove sprint and make a mm system that actually matches up EVEN TEAMS before I ever go back to the mess that is “Halo 4”.
First and foremost, I think 90% of the community can at least agree on the Boltshot being way over powered. The 10% will probably say it is not because they like using it as a unskilled starter.

Well said this game is a mess yet 343 do nothing but add a new game mode once a week and some spartan ops missions

1-You obviously haven’t faced anyone that knows how to abuse the boltshot, I could easily just sit mid map and get 10 kills 1 handed with it, and it’s just stupid to spawn players with an insta kill weapon.
2-JIP is no where close to being “fine”, im sure that 99.9% of the community doesn’t want to join into a 500-100 game every time they try to play MM, and even after their “tweaks” it’s just as bad as it was before.
3-So you’re saying you’re argument for sprint is that it’s realistic?? That doesn’t mean 2 -Yoink- in a VIDEO GAME, it straight up destroys the flow of the game.

Keep your distance then? DMR, Battle Rifle, Light Rifle, Carbine. You have options that don’t make it necessary to run at your opponent while you are shooting at him. The Boltshot is fine, I’ve gotten killed with it maybe twice.

You’re trolling right? Look at some Youtube videos of the Boltshot if it hasn’t been used against you. Specifically the ones that show it besting the Scattershot & UNSC shotgun in it’s range.
No it’s not. It’s not fun joining a game with a bunch of stupid teammates losing 500 to 10 on Complex (worst map ever).
Spartans were already at sprinting speed in previous games. Compare their pace to other shooters like Battlefield & CoD. You can instantly see the difference between pace.
EDIT: I’m in favour of sprint. I’m just addressing you’re points on the Spartans jogging.
I definitely agree that the lag and general performance can suck. Especially on larger maps; they really tax the aging hardware of the 360 and make unbearable input latency a fact of life. The game could use a lot more optimization and a ‘best connection’ filter.
The boltshot is pretty ridiculous, but I am a mid range player so I don’t just charge into places blindly. That means I’ve only been killed by it a handful of times in over 24 hours of play.
I can’t imagine going back to play without sprint. If I were to go back to Halo 3, I would enjoy the overall balance and especially the maps a lot better, but I just wouldn’t have the patience for walking speed only. Being able to sprint adds so much depth to the game, as well as speeds up the pace. Now, all they need to do is figure out how to make some small and medium sized arena maps that actually work with it and don’t suck -Yoink-. Haven and Solace are aptly named, because they are the only good maps in slayer rotation. They’re definitely not awesome though.
Oh and let’s not forget flinching another controller breaking feature bring back descoping pls
Regarding JIP…
A friend of mine shared a trick he found on youtube to keep you from ending up in a game in progress. When you see you’re about to go in to one (you can see all the players in game), hit start, go down to Network, and select “My 360” as your network and it will remove you from the queue. Then just select “Xbox Live” under network to be able to search again. It’s been keeping me from joining what are, in all likelihood, losing games.

1- Plasma 'nades wants a word with you. Plus if it was “teh uber sploits” gun you and others make it out to be, everyone would have one. They dont. Plus there is a thing called situation awareness. Never run around a blind corner, watch for cloaking fields in the LOS you moving to, never go solo.

Ive won games from JIP at 500-100 a few times, obviously on the 100 side that were losing. A bad team is a bad team. Also its not always about “winning”, I dont care if I win or lose as long as I play well and most importantly, have fun. As such I dont care if I am placed on a losing side late game. However JIP has now been tweaked to stop late game joining and improve its performance.

My example is not a realism example, its based on a HALO example. Spartans are bad -Yoink- genetically engineered soldiers. They run in the books, and MC runs in FUD. Previous games not having a sprint function was an ovesight because around the time of H1/H2 sprint wasnt a mainstream feature of FPS games. Sprint is now, therefor its been added as it increases mobility across larger scale maps. Devs/Publishers are not about to remove a core feature of the control set. No its not going to be removed, deal with it.
Boltshot is fine. You have distance counters, you also have armor abilities that make it a joke as well. Use hard light to ricochet the bullets back into his face. Use vision to see where they are and grenade them. If you die to boltshot frequently you are just bad.
Jip isn’t as big a deal as people make it out to be… I’ve played quite enough to know that if I joined a game that looks bad its better to just hide and give them enough of a fight to not to negative kd or just let them win objectively.
Sprint isn’t bad. If you’re mad about it you must do it in combat a lot…

sprint was the only good AA in Reach and I hate how in this game a two ton energy shielded super soldier gets slowed down when shot…stickies are worse than the boltsgot imo but I still dont like it. Also I don’t really care about JIP because kids quit all the time in reach but I hat how I can double the second top score in the match, but my team still loses…

Where in any of my posts did I say sprint was bad?
Join In Progress does need to be removed or at least tweaked. A one-minute cutoff for games in progress should be implemented so that you never join a team that is down by more than 10 kills.
Lag is occasionally an issue and does need to be dealt with, but merely saying that doesn’t help much.
Instant respawns do need to be removed from the game entirely. They are detrimental to the experience and flow of the game, and can be frustrating from both points of view. This in addition to the broken spawn points of the maps makes it possible to get a one-shot instant revenge on the guy you deshielded moments before. After all, it takes 7-8 seconds for your shields to fully recharge, and <1 second for the -Yoink- you just killed to respawn. Add in the factors of sprint, awful spawns, and too little cover on too few maps, and the situation of instant unfair revenge happens too often.
Sprint is also an issue. By itself, it isn’t sinful, but coupled with everything listed above, it adds to the mess. If all of the other broken features were removed, sprint would be fine, as it has advantages as well as drawbacks. You gain mobility and are also able to escape hostile situations, but lose the use of your firearm.
The boltshot is frankly overpowered. It deserves a nerf so that it will never deliver a full-shielded instant kill under normal circumstances. It should act as a mauler that you have to charge, meaning it would act as a quick deshield that would need to be followed up with a melee. This would be more balanced as it wouldn’t beat things like shotguns, scattershots, swords or hammers, and would give time to react with, say, a sticky.
Most Slayer gametypes should have respawns of 3-5 seconds.
Most objective gametypes should have respawns of 8-10 seconds.
Infection gametypes (or “flood”, its illegitimate offspring) are fine with instant respawns. Getting swarmed is kind of the point.
