Why doesn’t join in progress fill the slots immediately? If it did it wouldn’t be as much of a problem. People wouldn’t really notice the change of players and the games would be full all of the time.
Currently if someone quits and the game becomes more inbalanced than it already was it starts a cascade of quits and then about about 5 minutes when the game is already almost over it then starts filling slots.
No wonder people hate joining a game that is just about to end and they have no chance. Fill the slots instantly like you get in CoD where the system works and games are ALWAYS full.
Because there are maaany games that have people leaving and there isn’t enough players that search that would fit into the match, also connections and atleast some trueskill stuff must be controlled, even though I doubt that last on plays any role when the game decides who plays with who.
A decent amount of my JIP games are on international host and it takes forever to join the games and there’s a constant stream of quitters due to a garbage host where players from various continents are complaining about lag.
COD BO2 does a much better job of pairing players together based on actual latency not vague regions briefly before quickly switching to matching anyone in the world.
I noticed a strange coincidence:
when connection is fine, searching for matches finds ALWAYS new games, with incoming players.
when connection lags like hell, it finds ONLY JiP games, that anyway lag too.
Is there maybe a relation between the two situations?
