Before I begin, I would like to say that I’m not completely opposed to Join in Progress being in the game. I understand why it is in, I really do. I don’t like joining in progress in team gametypes most of the time, but I just puts on sunglasses deal with it.
But I have a serious issue with Join in Progress and the Free-For-All gametypes.
Why do Rumble Pit and Regicide even have this feature?
Join in Progress was meant to help people who are outnumbered in team gametypes, and to prevent things like stat padding, spawn killing, and other things that come with people quitting.
THIS means, however, that in an FFA gametype, it is literally only negetive. NOTHING positive comes from joining a free for all gametype while its already started.
Now, I have won some Rumble Pit gametypes that I’ve JiP’d. Its happened, but most of the time, I stand no chance because the score is already up.
I have, no lie, joined games where the leader already has 20 kills. How do I compete with that? I can’t, and neither can you, and as a competitive gamer, this is not okay with me.
Another thing that needs improvement is the spawning. Four times in one day, I have had someone that I just killed spawn right next to me, three feet away. I’ve also spawned right behind someone thats killed me, and that is not a satisfying kill. I love Rumble Pit, and I’ve never had this problem before, not even in Reach. Maybe it’s just the maps, but it needs fixing. Seriously.
