JIP b******t

If I quit a game because the lag makes it unplayable, don’t then put me back in the same game.

Also, don’t put me in a match where we’re 1-4 on CTF, and the enemy’s about to cap the last flag.

Happened to me and only that one time.

also I thought you were only suppose to be put in matches at the beginning but I was put into a swat match where players had 16 kills already, that can happen quickly in swat but it was horrible. Also you don’t have much time to backout with the xbox local trick in the lobby. JIP is horrible, if they keep this in H5 for ranked playlists it will be an epic fail.

Well I must be the lone voice in the wilderness because I like JiP, especially when I land with the team that’s behind.

For a few reasons:

  1. It beats waiting five minutes or more for a game with the card filling up and then the search restarting over and over again.

  2. There’s a sense of being dropped in to help the underdog - like a fresh fireteam being brought in to turn the tide of battle.

  3. If you do play your best and your team comes out on top then you feel a sense of achievement - and if you lose well, hey, there’s always the next game.

Having said all that I do understand if your a ‘win-at-all-costs’ type of player that not being able to pick and choose your matches might suck.

I agree on all points. I do wish that the JIP window was a little smaller.

Halo 5, if there are ranked playlists, should not have JIP though. It does kind of cut down on the competitive aspects of the game.

When I play Halo Reach, and my entire team quits, I spend the rest of the game getting killed by kids who are obsessed with gang-T-bagging corpses (I seriously think there is something weird and wrong about these kid’s fascination with simulated necrophilia by having a grown man squat on a dead guy’s face … let alone multiple Spartans at once. Maybe it’s all the Adderall and cough syrup they’re taking, I don’t know, but my Spartan certainly doesn’t act out sophomoric vulgarities with dead bodies.)

Sorry … ANYWAY:

JIP allows for reinforcements. And when I get thrown into a game and I’m on the losing team, I sing “Here I come to save the day!” (whether I do or not).
And when a game starts 3 v 4, and I hear that “Team mate joined” I know it’s going to be a more even fight.

I have had my fair share of bad join ins (I just leave if its to bad)

JIP is ok, plus I do join in games that started majority of the time actually.

JIP needs to be regulate and work on so we only join games that just began or if the score is not so big of a difference.

I think I prefer the risk of Join-in-progress over the risk of having to sit through a game after all of my teammates just quit.

Yep im with you on this one. Im a competitive player and i dont mind JIP.

Sure as hell beats this. I also hate it when the other team quits… Makes it so easy its a bit sad really.

JIP is a good thing, just when stuff like that happens it suck, happens to me on CoD all the time!

I rather they get rid of it, and be done with it. Why is it even in Flood and FFA playlists…? Oh joy, it must be great joining mid-game where you have no hope of winning and coming back. It’s a re****ed idea from the beginning. If your teammates left in H3 and Reach, you had to deal with it or leave yourself. I couldn’t give two -Yoink- if you belittle my post. It’s my opinion, so deal with it.

You know you can refuse JIP before you get into the game right?

“Capture the Flag”… “Game Over: Loser, 2nd Place”… Whiskey Tango Foxtrot 343?!?

> You know you can refuse JIP before you get into the game right?

How?

I can’t say I’m a fan of JiP. I understand why it can help, but I’m just not a fan.

Granted, most of the time when it happens to me it isn’t so bad. The teams are fairly even as far as score goes. But every so often I get thrown into a CTF game where the opposing team is up 3-0 and I Hear “Flag Captured” even before I have a chance to spawn.

How to avoid Join-in-Progress in Halo 4

If you see the playercards (instead of just “player found”) you’re getting a JIP. Press start, go to network and press My Xbox then switch back to xbox live to return to lobby and restart search. Rinse and repeat until you get into a pre-game lobby.

I disliked the Reach deal of being 2v8, but I’ve been dropped into Halo 4 games where I never fully spawned and the game ended, but also been stuck in objective where the other team is refusing to capture the last flag, and just kill farming.

That’s unlucky. Thankfully I haven’t encountered that yet in Halo 4. I got it a lot in Reach and Halo 3 though.

Same here. Since launch, I’ve gotten maybe a handful games like that, but in Reach it would be every other game. Maybe there’s less incentive to do it in Halo 4 - less reward for it?
