I realize I am opening the door to be crucified here, but here goes…I actually enjoyed the jetpack in Halo.
Having said that, I also need to clarify that I am a 90% social player who can get in a good competitive mood from time to time-so although I thought it was fun, I understand the arguement that the jetpack broke all competitiveness of MP. But that’s just my thoughts here…the jetpack to me was FUN. I am just wondering if there are any more of you out there who thought so as well. Laying aside map-making influence and all of that other stuff (which I understand is another valid arguement) does anyone else just miss the ability to fly around the map and raining chaos on those below? Does anyone else want it to return as maybe a WZ Armor Mod? I’m pretty sure at this point there’s an almost a 100% chance it won’t even happen, so this is purely to just see what you guys think. But man, it’s been a long time since I could say anything in H5 was FUN you know? It’s more irritating than it is enjoyable with RNG, faster paced combat, horrible UI, etc. I guess I’m just loyal to Halo to a fault, but is it too much to ask for something fun? If you don’t agree, maybe post something that you think would make Halo fun for you again. Thanks.
It can be in campaign, customs and action sack. Besides those, I do not want it in any other playlist at all.
I used to have lan parties with my friends on reach. We would play hemorrhage and I would get a sniper and pick the class with the jetpack. All I would have to do is fly really high and because nobody would sprint it would be quite easy to pick them off from far and high. They eventually got annoyed with me and everyone agreed I couldn’t use the sniper rifle, I found alternatives. Haha good times.
I’d like to see it come back as a vehicle that way we could use it for customs. You could place it on a map and when you ‘got in’ you’d sacrifice your thrusters for the upward boost.
It was pretty cool in Reach
I enjoyed the Jetpack in Reach. I really think it made the vertical plane a more deadly place. I would like to see it as an item in Warzone and/or Forge. All the arena maps would have no use for a jetpack.
I liked the jetpack in reach and 4, allowing me to jump around and skip sections of missions. I hope it returns one day to the campaign, though I wouldn’t want it in multiplayer, unless there was a game mode where everyone had it.

Just make it an armor ability, no need to force it on people or diminish it with unnecessary nerfs. The jetpack was fun in Reach, it made for some great gamemodes. The only problem was people didnt like maps being made around the jetpack, and the vertical gameplay in competitive. With forge though, devs don’t have to do that anymore, the part of the community that likes the jetpack, will loveingly make maps around it. And those who don’t, will almost never incounter it.

Multiplayer is to broad a term, you probably mean matchmaking. (Not including action sack)

I think it was made as a pick item in the Reach MLG playlist, but I don’t remember how long it lasted.
I wouldn’t mind if the Reach Jetpack came back for Forge and Custom games, tbh I’d rather the Reach Jetpack with sprint than Thrusters with sprint as the jetpack makes you an easy target while the thrusters give you an easy dodge, it’d certainly take custom games to the next level, although armor abilities for Forge/Customs would be cool too, they’d take the place of thrusters if equipped, that way you don’t have thruster AND jetpack or thruster AND hardlight shield.
I personally didn’t like it in matchmaking because it was unpredictable and was a bit of a gimmick. If it were to be implemented in Halo 5, I think it would have to be a power-up that replaces all thruster pack functions for the duration, and be unavailable in standard maps or Warzone. Jet Pack could make for some really fun gametypes, but they would have to be based around it and not the gunplay.
I play on bumper jumper so it just never felt right to me
I miss jetpacks so much. Made the game feel bigger.
I never really used the jetpack in Reach, and used it a little in Halo 4. I’ve never minded the jetpack, especially since many who used it would fly up in the air… with no cover and no place to hide…
The jetpack was fun to use. Doubt it will ever make a return but it would be awesome if it did 
Yup it was fun, and I would like to see it return. However “fans” of halo seem to dislike anything besides the br so likely fun things won’t be added back into halo. Hell anything besides guns grenades and vehicles get hate and sometimes one of those gets hate too. The only features I ever didn’t like were dual wielding and armor lock. Armor lock kinda stopped gameplay, and while it wasn’t all that bad to wait for someone to pop out of it, when a whole team used it to leap frog it became unstoppable. Dual wielding was just never balanced. Either dual wielded guns were too powerful or the single wielded versions of the gun were too weak, or some property of the guns changed when you dual wielded them so yeah balancing the dual wielding just seems impossible.
I think if it was like a vehicle and it was destructable it would work really well. Activated through left trigger instead of scoping allowing a kind off thrust still but maybe not the same as a thrust.
