Jetpack needs to be removed

Why is this still in Halo?

We’ve been over this before but for those new to the discussion Jetpack breaks map control and cover, not to mention game-play is imbalanced.

Please take it out; we complained about it as much as armor lock.

Ok yes, let’s just delete it from multiplayer! What about the Spartan Points we have invested into it? Where will they go? Into thin air! Then what’s the point?

The jet pack is a lot more balanced in Halo 4 than it was in Reach.

Not at all, it still breaks map control, balance and above all sight lines.

Its not as bad as it was in Reach at least, its much shorter and people don’t seem to keep in the air for that long any more.

Its annoying, but theres bigger problems.

It still wrecks Abandon. There is no reason to hold top when just a bunch of Jetpackers will fly up out of nowhere.

By broken map control I suppose you mean overrunning overpowered camp spots like reflections upper balcony with the sniper? Or when your holding the tower on ascension and want the enemy to have only 1 way to you?
Jetpack goes a long way towards fixing the stale fights in those places, running around the same corner to an entire team of people hiding in the same place just to be naded to hell was never fun.
It’s been nerfed to hell since reach anyways

Agreed it’s way better than it was in Reach. Honestly i feel it’s a minor issue compared to so much of the other BS in the game. Gamers will complain about anything though.

Yes let’s remove an armour ability that makes people an easier target. :3

Sometimes bad players just make themselves easy targets with it.

However, in any fight, not just a gunfight, the higher ground is always an advantage. JP basically gives you the high ground on command. Not to mention that looking up to shoot at a JPer eliminates your ability to know what is going on immediately around you.

This.

Defining the rules of the fight would make you a referee, not a combatant.

Referees dont get to play the game.

Wrong, wrong, wrong.

A jetpack, like any loadout, has advantages and disadvantages. For example… promethean vision allows you to see enemy players and NPCs through solid objects. The bad side is that in War Games it immediately gives away your location on radar and it only lasts for a limited few seconds.

Jetpacks have their advantages too; you can bypass obstacles that would normally render moving forward difficult to impossible, and you can gain the element of surprise over ground-bound targets.

The disadvantage of the jet pack comes apparent in the following ways:

-It makes A LOT of noise; in fact, the sound of a Jet Pack is very distinct; there’s no mistaking it for the sound of gunfire or grenades, and this can give away your location if fatfingered.

  • The advantage of height can be used against you; if somebody sees you landing and rising high in the sky, you set yourself up to easily be picked off by somebody with a long distance weapon.

  • If used carelessly, you fall to your death. The amount of control you have in the air with your jetpack is very limited; once it runs out, you’re airborne and immobile. And if you’re far too high off the ground, you go splat or are picked off after recieving impact damage.

Don’t get mad that you struggle against jetpackers; use this advantage against them.

I think you probably have more trouble with jetpackers than Hunler does.

That said, the jetpack is a lot less effective than it was in Reach and at this point Promethean vision and AC are both about as good, if not better, than the jetpack.

My post has nothing to with my own ability; I’ll be the first admit I’m a far cry from pro. just highlighting certain points.

In the hands of an entire team jetpacks break the game, their is no disadvantage now that people also get sprint with it.

And those disadvantages are either not disadvantages at all for someone who knows what they’re doing or easily mitigated.

This isn’t even an argument.

Map control in Halo 4? Never heard of him!

Jet Pack is extremely situationnal and map-dependant. The only hic I see with it is how overpowered it makes the Rocket Laucher and the Incinerator, but it’s far from being really problematic.

Clearly you haven’t played complex and Abandon enough.

You might have a point on Abandon, but on Complex it’s far from OP. Camping on the rooftops is cheap as hell, jetpack is just making sure that it doesn’t become a problem.

Just add a softkill barrier on Abandon (at the level of the middle tower’s summit or slighly lower) and you fix the jetpack ‘‘problem’’.

Its a great tactical tool. Old school halo cryhards need to refrain from speaking.
