Does anyone else have a super hard time hearing the jetpack when it’s being used by other players? Maybe it’s by design, but on the same TV and sound system and everything in Reach, I could easily hear the loud noise of the jetpack, informing me of someone flying up. In H4, I can hardly hear it at all, if ever. There are countless times where I trust my radar for them to come around the corner, and then…they’re not there, they’re in the sky. In Reach, I’d hear it easily. I just can’t in this game.
It’s bugged me since release but it’s really noticeable now.

I’ve never thought about it, but you’re right. I can’t recall ever hearing someone else using a Jetpack. That’s probably why it seems worse than in Reach.

I hope it isn’t by design. It’s a fair trade off of increased height to have a loud noise that cues people in to what you’re doing.

I actually prefer the Jetpack to be less noisy.
The jetpack should most definitely be louder, as a way to tell everybody around “Hey! I’m flying here! Shoot me!” The ability to fly shouldn’t be without its setbacks. Using the Jetpack should have some risk to it, like the Hardlight Shield (where you can’t shoot), or the Regen Field/Sentry Turret (moment of inability to move or shoot as it’s activated).

Well when you can fly over cover someone is behind in a one on one situation with no other action going on, and they can’t hear you? There’s something broken about that.
Audio is weird in H4. Sometimes the warthog gun sounds horrible and all of a sudden it sounds nice.

Yeah. And sometimes then a game starts the game sounds get really loud for a few seconds and back down.
I noticed it as well and it has kinda bothered me considering the amount of thrust required to lift a spartan clad in armor.
