Was looking for a thread for this but can’t find one, correct me if there is already one.
Now I know we already saw jetpack in spartan ops but after seeing http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Th4kLbnc7Vk ← That they are both obviously using jetpack in a MP game shiver

I’m trying to be hopeful, here. If it is like Reach, here comes the map-breaking again and the death of map control… again.

Reach’s JP was not map breaking. People could get to high spots easily, sure, but it was rather easy to take them out if you were aware and checking your radar. This is better, because if it acts like the Brute jets, then people will only go a short distance, but they’ll spend less time than if they had H:R’s JP. That way they can go places (not too many places) but not die instantly, and their jumping won’t shatter maps.

Good players new how to abuse the Jetpack quite well. They didn’t hover in a place where you could easily see them. They used to boost above you and reign grenades down on you and shoot you. Also, plenty of maps (before they were kill-zoned) had places where people would go and snipe you to death and you couldn’t get them back (the ridge on Hemorrhage; Bungie took a long time to kill-zone that place). Retaining the top part of a map was useless when a good team could jet-pack up and take it back quite easily.
I hope it is like a jump-pack. Or I hope this was a place-holder before they came up with thruster packs. It seems like a really old build. If they were truly functional like they are in this video, we woud have seen them at RTX or even E3.

While you get shot by another jet packer and grenades coming at you from above. Not to mention whatever power weapon they wield. A smart team will never have just one jet packer. And they will never just hover in a place they are vulnerable for far too long.

He’s not talking about awareness dude, its called map structure breaking, and btw have you ever been under someone who is jetpacking? Have fun hitting the headshot while all you can see is his -Yoink- and all he can see is your head, and dont forget about his teammates who are pumping you full of led while your distracted by the apache helicopter floating above you…

This sounds like the polar opposite of the criticism of ALers. You know, they stupidly get themselves into a situation where they should die and then prolong that by Locking.
I mean, you knew that other guy had a jetpack. Right? What did you think was going to happen?

Sounds like you are having more of a problem with the other guy’s team.
Where’s YOUR team? Did they see the jetpacker first and run for cover?

? I didn’t say the death was cause by the jetpackers team, its just an added negative cause it dosen’t really matter, the guy 50 feet above you is going to have the advantage in a 1v1 scenario everytime.
