Jetpack cannot be balanced HERE'S WHY

Since my last thread was locked cause I didn’t give a “logical” reason to why I don’t think Jetpack is a good idea for Halo 4 I decided to make a new one explaining it. Jetpack is not a good idea for Halo 4 because I feel it creates a height advantage over the enemy allowing you for the easy kill over who you are shooting. A smart jetpacker can execute this very well. I know jetpack ruined a lot of maps in Reach because you can bypass parts of the map which is its major flaw. I don’t think 343 should have to design maps that will work for jetpack because someone at 343 could have a really good map design that would work very well without jetpack but now it must be trashed or redesigned just for one damn AA which most of you didn’t get from the previous thread.

Now as someone had said in the last thread that jetpack can be used as a support ability because you could fly up to your teammate on the level above you to help him. Now that’s good and all but I don’t think you should be able to bypass these parts of the map because if your down there it’s too bad you should have already been up there to help him in the first place and if it was two on one that’s your fault you screwed up so they get the point and they made the smarter play by sticking together. But by saying that you gave me another flaw in the jetpack and that is that you can flee from your enemy. If your on the bottom level of Haven and your losing you can just fly up and away from your enemy which in a way is kind of better than armor lock because your not stuck there you actually got away from your enemy. This should not be because you shouldn’t be able to flee from your enemy so easily. If he out gunned you that’s too bad hes more skilled so he gets the point simple as that.

And another thing I would still like to here your reasons to why you want it in the game and what will it add to Halo 4?

Did you really have to make ANOTHER thread about jetpack after your last one got locked? Why don’t you just put your stuff in the existing thread “jetpacks are Fine”?

So maps shouldn’t be designed with their gameplay mechanics in mind? I don’t think that is how map design works. To say the Jetpack cannot be balanced is illogical by the way, you have no way of knowing that.

If I’m understanding this right you mention since the last thread is lock on the previous one that got locked a few minutes ago how about you stop pasting 3+ identical threads to continuously get locked down it looks bad for your record.

You still don’t get it do you. Jetpack doesn’t have to be a gameplay mechanic just because it was in that failure of a game Reach. What I’m saying is the map designers shouldnt have to think of ways to design a map that will work for jetpack. If the map is designed for jetpack there HAS to be a low roof because the imbalance part of jetpack is te height advantage which NONE of you get. So if there is a low roof NO ONE will use jetpack so its pointless to have it in the game which is why it shouldn’t so not EVERY MAP has a low roof on it. As soon as you have a map THAT DOESN’T have a low roof people will be able to bypass parts of the map and get the HEIGHT advantage which is its FLAWS. Do you get it now I cannot explain it any better.

People keep saying “It allows you to get places faster and that’s wrong” like it’s the most horrible thing ever.

It’s not. And like I’ve said before, it’s noticeable, reduces maneuverability and thus the ability to dodge MONUMENTALLY, and hinders you in an actual firefight when everyone else is using more combat-oriented AAs. And guns.

Quick question: has jetpack been confirmed for MM?

The game is going gold soon. There’s no point saying that something should be removed when it’s going to be in the game. 343 will be designing maps to account for all the different AAs. Even if people do find exploits, 343 will patch them.

I can’t work if it functions like Reach’s version, it should be limited to being a jump pack (dbl jump).

No. As of right now, we’ve only seen one picture of it in Spartan Ops, so there’s a chance it’ll be in MM, but even if it is, we don’t know if it’s the same as Reach or if they changed it.

Breaks map flow? by that you mean impossible to keep a height advantage on a losing team because thats fair right?

I like it that in a thread that puts down the jetpack people say its not bad and that it should stay.
However in a thread that praises the jetpack and says it can be ok gets flamed and people put it down.

that’s how bungie used to decide balance if one group hated and the other half liked it .it was balance

Needler + Jet-pack = AGGRAVATION.
Thats all i have to say, getting tired of needler trolls, pick up a damn DMR.
