Title says it all, combine thruster pack and jet pack into a single ability and split the ability in a way that allows a fair use of both abilities without affecting gameplay too much.
So far, all you’ve said is to merge both abilities and make it balanced. Not even an explanation as to why you would wand this. One ability breaks map control while the other is fair. Combining them is a terrible idea.
I firmly vote against this. It’s a cool idea, but I don’t think we need multiple Superman mortaring us with Battle Rifle shots and spraying Assault Rifles. It looks like it might make for a sweet Action Sack game type, but Armor Abilities are broken as it is.

How is stuff like Thruster Pack, Hologram and Hardlight Shields for example, broken?

Oops. I am an avid user of those abilities as it is. But I felt that abilities like Active Camo and Jetpack are abused and contribute to the bad reputation of Armor Abilities. Jetpack breaks map control with ease, and I’m pretty sure I don’t need to explain Active Camo’s unfair uses. Let’s not forget Promethean Vision.

I agree there, I hate those Armour Abilities
This idea is interesting, but it would have to be implemented properly. Perhaps switch out the jet pack portion for a quick vertical double jump-like burst with the same range as the horizontal movement, just to make it balanced.
Make it like those brute jump packs from previous games lol

The AAs in this game are actually fairly well balanced, PV, JP and AC are the broken ones. The rest are fine balance wise, but I will say that most are bland and don’t add depth to the game.

Auto sentry is useful, it gives me an advantage over my enemy, as I have a bigger damage output. All you need to do is prepare.

Actually, I believe it is a counter to Camo, I’ll do a test at some point
I sort of want the Drop Shield to return, but remove its recovery capability and maybe make it a little weaker

If so, than we should not spawn with it. We need to have a combo of spawn able AAs and map placed AAs. That’s just my opinion though.
If AAs do return, jet pack needs to function like Titanfall double jump.

Did you get inspired by the Titanfall gameplay? 
I think it’s be fun, but too much of an advantage. If they had that in competitive play, it would be too unfair. It would be very fun in campaign though!

Jet pack is game breaking. Well pretty much all the armor abilities are.
We have
Camo- Camp fest
Promethean Vision- Wall hack
Hardlight Sheild- Armor lock 2.0
The only armor ability I can accept the slightest is thruster pack.
Here we go again.
Jet Pack and Thruster Pack do two different things. Combining them would be OP. Trying to balance them to work together would mean nerfing both functions until you essentially end up with a device that couldn’t do either one well enough to matter.
I completely understand that people that like to play CoD have trouble with Jet Pack. Players that are comfortable with their own capabilities are rarely concerned about what the other guy uses.
When someone beats me in a match it’s not because they had a Jet Pack and I didn’t, or they used a BR and I had a DMR, or they had Active Camo and I didn’t use Promethean Vision.
It’s because they played better than I did. Period.
AA’s don’t make good players out of bad players, but they apparently provide a good excuse for losing to a bad player.

After seeing a lot of titanfall gameplay, and the way players move around… yeah, this could work.
I think it should work more like the Jump Pack in Space Marine. Tap to dodge, Hold to boost upwards. They could possibly add the ground stomp that you can do when landing.
