I know this topic has probably been done a lot already but I haven’t really seen his true might till my friend started using him in 2v2 -Yoink!- I feel like it’s an easy win almost everytime with Jerome’s early game domination. I’m just feeling this dude needs a nerf badddddd
He needs to be slowed down( the hero itself ) so other units can catch up with him and attack.
Currently, Jerome can retreat—>attack —> retreat → attack and kill any number of infantry.
I have played against a pro-Jerome player who took out almost full pop cap worth of infantry with his hero alone.
Later in game he took out a scarab 1 on 1 and lost almost no HP.
Personally, i don’t really know how to play him well. To me, he seems the weakest leader in the game(when i play it myself) but when i play against Jerome, i usually loose in the early game.
He inspires units and makes them almost unbeatable in an even match
Only way I know is to slam him and grenade throw the heck out of him. It works well and you can expect that if you play him. But honestly I’m sick of seeing Jerome. I see him about 1/3 of the time. He’s been op for awhile now and there have been slight buffs to him every time there been a patch.
I play cutter almost exclusively, so I can beet him. But anything else is not fair.
Jerome is possible to defeat, but he us just too potent as a leader, and his hero has the speed and probably damage of a chosen, mixed with the defense if nearly a Pavium. Oh, and he can always call his mantis(who is also tanky) in to save his life. It is very tedious to deal with and I feel like I shouldn’t have to invest so much on one hero
Jerome as an overall leader is actually not as potent as you’d think if you look at his abilities, save for Jerome himself and Omega Team.
Inspire (Time for heroes) and Recon Training make for a good infantry leader that can go a long way towards buffing his armies and the singular offensive power’s mainstay is its damage, not the inspire.
The heroes on the other hand…
Jerome himself (w/o mantis) is an average infantry hero with decent damage, range, and a buff aura.
Jerome (w/ mantis) Is a sniping legend that can whittle down most things with how much DPS the mantis can put out at the range it can fire from while also being able to be used as a secondary health pool for Jerome and as a one-man army with the ability to fight two at once.
Omega Team is also not the most balanced ability as it gives you three heroes with middling effectiveness that can hard-counter forge’s battalion, Colony’s vehicle drop, and goes a long way towards destroying armies with a mostly heavy vehicle or air compositon.
Every single hero also has an inspire aura that can be used to buff allies and your own troops, meaning that it’s possible to buff all three armies in a 3v3 setting or have a large army of troops with a lot of damage and defense, especially when used with Spartan Morale and Field Promotion (for your own troops, doesn’t apply to allies)

I don’t think that Jerome is too good, it’s just he’s never been bad any season except the first season he was in when he was actually OP.

You should play a good Jerome then. He is the most OP leader with inspire and hero.

I’ve played plenty. Unless this season he is some how broken. He’s always just been an overall well balanced leader. I feel like if more leaders had Jerome balance we’d have a perfect game regardless of maps. He has good mines, good troop buffs, a movable garrison unit, an AOE move, a very powerful Spartan drop that can stun an entire army. My only grip with Jerome is he can be a bit boring with the lack of unique units. Then again you’re a Champion rank so you’re probably seeing something I’m not seeing at Onyx level or Diamond level.

That’s the thing, is not a now thing. He was always this way. he was just made MUCH worse after he got like a 10% buff while he pilots his mantis. Salvo being buffed was also a reckoning to his might. Jerome is the worst leader in the game in terms of being broken.

Yeah I didn’t know he got a 10% buff being in the Command Mantis.
He’s a great hero and great all around but, I find him more of a problem early and cans can be in mid but late game I don’t think he’s one of the easier leaders to take on late game.

Pull out hero and kite with ToH. Here is the key, let your hero do the work; not your units. Your units will support him when he does need help along with mines to help him kite. If played well, you will find the other player has rage quit and has uninstalled the game.

I was talking about jerome kiting, not kiting jerome
Literally when I play Jerome I just build a Hero and some Marines and go for T2, that Hero is a carrying machine and lets you get away with way more than you should.

Jerome is a good leader but that is a massive over exaggeration. Bigger exaggeration than Hood saying the fleet that destroyed Reach was “50 times this size”.
