Ever since the Halo video games came out, what are the possibility of Jerome-092 and Frederic-104 becoming our new heroes in future installments? Do you see that happened? Would like to hear your thoughts.
I’m not so sure about fred… but definitely jerome. Now that he has an ai I think he’d have something to bring to the story. With the fact that she has a hatred towards the Banished she would be an ally to the UNSC and if she finds out cortana is working with them, she wouldn’t be happy to know that. Basically she’d view cortana a traitor to humanity and it would be some form of AI conflict. Also come on… she’s red. The inverse of cortana. So I can see Jerome being a big part of Infinites story. Fred… well I didn’t get to read shadows of reach so I dont have an input for that.

I think there is a lot of stories they can tell with Jerome-092. I can definitely see Jerome-092 getting his own spin off video game that is set after Halo Wars 2 and during Halo Infinite.
I’m a big fan of Jerome taking on the mantle of franchise-runner. He’s got a cult following among the more hardcore fans, which would help to legitimize him to the wider audience. He’s also been a main character for two games. But most importantly for reality’s sake, Jerome is young. He has the good fortune of being a Spartan-II as well as a man who spent nearly 30 years in cryo. So he can be a vibrant and young character whereas the Chief is entering his middle age years with more than a few loads of baggage to contend with.
To add a small extra positive, Jerome’s time in the spotlight has not hurt his character. Unlike Fred, who you mentioned above, Jerome’s character hasn’t been associated with a poorly received game title. Fred is a great character who could be a great asset to the extended universe, but H5 screwed his character up so badly that I’d be wary to see him come back to the main stage any time soon.
I am completely in favor of Jerome and Fred becoming the new heroes, even if this requires a reboot of the franchise. They definitely need more spotlight and love, and Chief just has become milked to death anyway.
Id rather have Jerome. When people think of Halo they think of the green guy so I think Jerome would fit better. But I don’t think Chief will be going any time soon. Him being 50 might be on the older side for us but remember its the 26th century and they probably extended human life.

That’s definitely true. Plus he’s a Spartan, and canonically the UNSC doesn’t actually know the lifespan of a Spartan. It’s brought up in New Blood when Buck is going through his augmentations.
Not to mention, Chief spent four years in cryo, and that’s not counting all the other times he spent months in cryo during transits around the Orion Arm of the galaxy.
I’d like Jerome to be a playable character in a mission at same point, maybe in infinite you can play as him for a side mission. Or anything
Frederic should have a really good one as a form of 343 redeeming a character they screwed up.

And who knows what the Librarian did to him.
Strongly against, I feel like Halo will have trouble moving on without MC, even if it did, I would not choose those characters.
I don’t see Chief dying. He is the face of the franchise and it would be bad to get rid of him. However, if he did ever die Jerome would be the best replacement for a two reasons. 1. He looks more like Chief then Fred. This would help newcomers wouldn’t wonder who this Spartan was instead of Chief.
2. He wasn’t in a bad game. Unlike Fred, Jerome has not been in a game hated by nearly everyone.

I agree with the first part, once MC is killed I think a large chunk of the community is going to leave it behind…
