Jeff Steitzer's announcer voice in H4

In the E3 MLG videos I’ve noticed it’s much more subdued in tone compared to the previous games. In Reach especially, Jeff really embellished the announcements with great attitude and personality, he had fun with it and it sounded badass. In Halo 4 he’s somewhat muted, like he’s just going through the motions. Listen to how he says, “first strike!” to see what I mean. It’s not right. “Double kill” also sounds like he could hardly be bothered.

So my question is: are these recordings final? Are they gonna ship with the game? If so, I’m admittedly disappointed by this relatively minor detail. Jeff’s voice adds an indispensable and unique quality to the ‘feel’ of Halo multiplayer; surely other, better takes exist…

Yes I agree, in the halo 4 e3 build he just doesn’t seem as enthusiastic or deep or have the same hardcore feel like he did in halo reach and halo 3. I hope they change this in the final build.

Why are people complaining about his voice? I personally found his voice in Halo 4 good.

Because his voice sounded awkward, odd, didn’t sound enthusiastic, and it just lacked that vibe that it had in all the previous games. I’m also praying that the Medals aren’t final either, I think they look too plain, they don’t look very exciting, and I seriously hope the splatter medal features the splattered man with blood and guts hanging out like in the previous games.

So did I. I didn’t have a problem with his voice :stuck_out_tongue:

There are the odd bunch of players that find his voice (no matter the game) to be annoying and want the option to turn the announcer off.

Um, it’s explained thoroughly in the OP…
