Jeff Steitzer-Voice of Halo

Since the campaign is completely playable at this point and multiplayer has been going for quite some time, the fact that people are lobbying for certain features at this point is futile.

One thing that I haven’t heard, however, is if Jeff Steitzer will be back as voice of the multiplayer announcer. You can change many features of the game, but I cannot possibly envision a Halo title without his voice giving me constant updates. Not sure who they used for Invasion in Reach, but it sounded like Grandpa Max from Ben 10, which didn’t really work for me.

So, I am curious if this is an important thing to others. Would you be OK if they changed that up, or are you completely committed to the Voice of Halo?

Well, the voice of Max from Ben 10 is the voice of Colonel from Metal Gear Solid, so I’m okay with that.

Jeff Steitzer has already said that he won’t be the announcer for Halo 4 (this was posted in a few weeks ago, and I don’t feel like digging it up) so I’m up for Paul Eiding. That doesn’t mean he’ll be as memorable as Jeff.

Steitzer still does the regular “double kill” etc. Colonel Holland does the “fall back” for invasion etc.

Even so, it doesn’t mean that we wont be hearing his name again… 343/Bungie/Microsoft already paid for the audio files, they can easily re-use the ones they already have. I mean, there is hardly a difference between the Halo 2, Halo 3 and Reach “Double Kill”

Oh… Okay then.

Having watched one of his Youtube videos, I really would like it if they incorporated the “You Suck!” sound that was cut out. Maybe it would go with the getting beat by over 40% medal (Luke owes you a steak dinner?)

That makes me sad. :frowning: But I guess nothing can stay forever. On the bright side I am sure 343 will find someone just as good to do the voice for Halo 4!

That’s not exactly true. It was about a Halo Waypoint user asking if Jeff has been asked to work on Halo 4, to which he answered “No”. This, however, doesn’t mean he won’t be the announcer for Halo 4. 343i most likely wouldn’t ask him until they need to. This would be pretty late into the development, as soon as they get a multiplayer build they are satisfied enough with it.

I seriously don’t believe they would just leave Jeff. After all, he’s been the announcer since Halo CE. And I can’t see him suddenly quitting it as he even narrated the first Halo CEA trailer.

I don’t think I’d really mind if he wasn’t in it.

Yes it is an important matter to Halo, well at least for me. Getting double kills/triple kills/killing sprees/killing frenzies wont be the same.

Are you talking about that post in which the OP said that he knew Jeff? If so, OP actually said that Jeff replied with “They haven’t asked me to do anything for Halo 4” or something along the lines of that. Now even if OP was telling the truth about Jeff, Jeff wouldn’t even be allowed to confirm that he’s doing the voices and he might not have even been asked yet.

I can guarantee that he’ll be the announcer in Halo 4. No-one (except maybe Steve Downes, voice of John-117) can replace him. He’s worked with 343 before (Halo Anniversary Trailer) so we know that he’s had a bit of history with them. I’m sure they’ll ask him to do the voices again. Eitehr that or they’ll just use the voices from Halo Reach.

Readies deep voice - Dooooouuuuuble Killllllll… I can do it!!! Hire me 343i!
