Just for fun…
Since Multiplayer now has a place in Halo’s canon, wouldn’t it be neat to have Jeff Steitzer added to the canon as well? Perhaps he could be a Human instructor who oversees and maintains the combat deck? Or perhaps he can be one of the Infinity’s A.I. instead?
This isn’t necessary or important but I thought it would be neat to acknowledge Mr. Steitzer since he has been a big part of Halo the past decade. They might as well bring him into the canon. There is a Gunnery Sergeant Pete Stacker after all haha.
I’ve been thinking the same thing. He’d probably be an AI, a human wouldn’t be able to monitor all of the individual firefights and call out each kill.
I wonder what his name would be.
I can just picture a man going ape-yoink- in a control room making exaggerated faces whenever someone does something impressive.
“OVERKILL!”
leaps up from his desk
Basically your average MLG announcer.
lol, yeah the A.I. concept sounds more plausible as OrKuun Byundis pointed out. It would be more capable of keeping track of each Spartan’s feats and announcing them to the individuals on the field.

I just can’t see an AI rationally saying “FLAGSASSINATION!” personally, though not against it.
Now that I think of it, BB from Glasslands is said to have a voice like an announcer.
Then again, I wouldn’t want him voicing any of Traviss’s characters…
From the Halo 4 official site,
> This unparalleled, revolutionary battle simulation system is where Spartans go to hone their skills in competitive combat. Through the dual purposing of holographic technology and vast pneumatic riser fields, the War Games facility is transformed into a hyper-realistic battlefield, simulating both real and hypothetical combat arenas. Moderated by the War Games AI, Spartans engage in a variety of classic and new gametypes.
I think that is referring to Jeff Steitzer, I guess it’s official then.

Sweet, that works for me

I never thought I’d see an AI make fireworks, or ride a skateboard, but hey, it happens (somewhat canonically) in RvB.

Now the questions becomes, what is the name of this new AI? Might simply be Steitzer, named after the voice actor, or a more unique name?

Steitzer could work. Umpire or Referee might be too obvious.

So… much… win!
