With many of Halo communities being ostracized from the game (Forge, Filesharing, Custom, Competitive, MLG) the future of halo is in the balance.
I’m almost 1000% positive now that this is the future of halo, the point of Halo 4 was to usher in the new era of gamers, just like the revolutionary Halo ce did.
I understand now that some are left with 2 options, to leave the game for good and look elsewhere for what they are looking for (starcraft 2 anybody???) or adapt to this new era and have a change of mindset.
I say this in regards to what some are calling the make or break month for H4 (I’m talking about the title update of corse). What I am getting at is… what can actually be changed for Halo 4? Im not sure how much people know about making games but the MASS changes that people are clammering for is, for use of a better word unrealistic.
While balancing issues may be feasible adding in things that were not in the plan at all such as 1-50 ranks will be almost impossible especially in the 2 months they have had to consider it.
Same with custom game options, its not like options are not working, they are actually missing, total ommitance is harder and longer to address than than just editing a few algorithms.
Forge though is different, that just required proper testing and adjustments.
Neway saying all that my point is, not for people to get there hopes up for this January title update, its more likely that we will get a few minor fixes with some additional gameplay, playlist options.
Personally I would just like a ranked 1-50 playlist, despite the long list of issues I would be temporarily satisfied with some type of competitve playlist, that would atleast provide some replayability value.

i fear 343 just doesnt care enough to make the neccessary changes. i am begining to believe they enjoy what they have and believe that this is the direction they want to take the halo series.
it saddens me because i want to enjoy and love this game as much as i loved h2 and h3. but i cant. i cant love and enjoy it like i used to. i can only hope that another game will come a long that will feed and entice my spirit like h2 and h3 once did before… i just dont believe h4-6 will…

Well, 343 has not been on time with anything as of yet, so dont expect it to be early january. Expect early February.
I’m about a day away from trading this game in for a store credit. Even if Spartan Ops became amazing it would be destroyed weekly by the trolling community and the maps it shipped with suck and the lack of a descent ForgeWorld and many other issues already covered numerous times makes me think that it’s simply time to try out other games for awhile. The only Halo playlist worth playing is the forums.
I doubt the january update will “fix” halo 4s main issues, I honestly dont mind waiting awhile for a game to be patched, as long as the issues get resolved at one point or another I really couldn`t be more satisfied.
if I were you guys I would wait til halo 4 ends its sustain period, as they say it aint over til its over.
