If the tease indeed showed off Mark V, the body armor looks amazing but the helmet is off. The helmet looks too blocky and the brim is too short. I feel that the Halo CEA or the Halo 3 Mark V would have been a better route to take in designing this new one. I saw another post about this, so its safe to say I’m not the only one who noticed this. Any comments?

I see what you mean, but you got the armor variant off. It is really Mark IV not Mark V, Mark V is assumed to come later.
They are taking it way back to the CE look, the Mark IV looks more like the Mark V we were accustomed to.
I’ll admit its different but I kinda like it.

Agreed. It looks pretty terrible. But now I don’t have that tough decision between Mark IV and Mark V.

Mark IV is the December update, I’m referring to the tease of the January update! It may yet still be a version of the Mark IV but the body armor pretty much looks Mark V.

Pretty sure Mark IV is coming in December, what the OP is talking about is the armor that appears to be an old-school version of Mark V from Halo CE.

Oof, that Mark V helmet looks really off for some reason. Maybe it’s too blocky, yeah. There’s not enough subtle contours in the visor, but if it had those it would look too close to Mark IV, I guess. I like how the helmet looks well enough though. At least I have more of a chance to get a helmet that doesn’t look too bad.
The mk V looks like it was forged. Carbine has a needle mod? Sounds sweet.

And yeah, I kinda agree with you, the helmet does look slightly bad and could tweak it a little. Otherwise I like it.

I agree 100%. The body armor is perfect and has a similar design. The helmet just feels to strong in the mouth area and not strong enough in the part that hangs over the helmet.
