I appreciate Jameson Locke for rescuing Master Chief in Halo 5. If he didn’t succeeded in rescuing Master Chief in Halo 5 we wouldn’t be playing as Master Chief in Infinite.

Just like how H5 mission was to delete everything H4 set up, Halo Infinite needs to do the same to that abomination of a campaign in H5.
Regardless of the direction the segregated community believes the franchise should move forward in, we all agree that H5 campaign was ridiculous and the launch state of H5 needs to never happen again.
I’m so curious how they’ll handle Cortana. Her character has been suplexed into absolute garbage.

Halo 4 set up 5, the whole epilogue of the Forerunners reclaiming the galaxy and cortana going full mendicant bias was fairly cohesive.
The biggest mistake infinites campaign can make is ignoring what has come before and essentially giving a middle finger to fans who stuck by the narrative and to the writers who built excellent extended fiction within the limitations of each arc in the reclaimer saga thus far, imo.

Probably referring to how Hyperius has a Hunter helmet like Locke’s strapped to his arm like a trophy. Folks assume that means Locke is dead. Course, it could just be Locke was defeated in a fight, managed to escape, and Hyperius still claimed his helmet as a trophy. Atriox beat Red Team and managed to hold and crush Douglas’ helmet, but we know he didn’t die.

Or better yet could be another spartan completely, I assume Locke isn’t the only one with the hunter armour.

I know people’s first call is to have Infinite pretty much retcon 5 out of existence and move on, but I think this is a worse move.
I get that 5’s story wasn’t well received, but if Infinite sweeps everything under a rug, and resolves the Created/Cortana plot in a similar way to Jul ‘Mdama, 343 will loose a fair amount of credibility when it comes to sort writing.
It’s kind of like how heroes constantly die and come back to life in comics, removing the stakes. If 343 did wrap up and replace Cortana in the opening missions of the game, it will be the second time in a row. Fans will eventually stop caring that ‘the galaxy is in peril’ because they know 343 will fix it in the beginning of the next game.
They’d be better off owning it, and embracing the weird state they left the galaxy in, and finding interesting ways to explore the dynamic they created.

I hate how ill, people speak of H5. It was actually a really good campaign.
Anyways, if they retcon H5 then they may as well do so for the entirety of the Reclaimer “Trilogy”. Isn’t Infinite a “soft reboot” anyways?
Master Chief let Locke save him cause John is a stand up guy and didn’t want Locke to feel entirely useless.
I’m scared again after Halo 5, I know that the art style that players wanted even me has enchanted me but losing the sense of some characters makes me a bit furious.
At least something I loved about Halo 5 was seeing John’s team, not only seeing them in novels or comics, but not seeing them in action, that was something great for me.
I just want to see what happens with Halo Infinite that will happen in the campaign, it is a mystery despite the leaks of information on the one hand it is good that everything will be fine.

It’s hard to say. Based on the trailer and first 8 minutes of the campaign, it looks like you may be a lone Spartan for awhile. That being said, I am sure you will see the return of Blue Team.
