One cool feature I noticed and am excited about is that Jackals rotate their shields to make hitting their hands harder. Just a cool observation that has me excited for other new behaviors.
While I agree it’s a cool behaviour (good observation btw, I didn’t think of that), this behaviour doesn’t really seem to get to shine.
At long ranges, absolutely. But at mid-short range the grapple seems to stun them if you hit the shield. And the fast recharge and unlimited uses makes it seem like there won’t be much point in taking them out by shooting the hand.
What are people’s thoughts on that? Am I completely wrong here?
In the previews, the jackals are dispatched fairly quickly. As far as I can tell, we have only seen the blue shield variant. So hopefully the yellow and reds are more resistant.
Keep in mind the B roll is probably on Easy.
That could be interesting, if you had to think differently for different shield colours. I’m not sure if that’s how it’ll be but we’ll see.

It is such a neat little twist to add some variation to gameplay that we have been playing for 20 years now. I hope all the enemies have multiple new gameplay quirks.
