checked your gamertag. you havent played much since the update. I play crossplay too and i was fine with the matchmaking until they started prioritizing connection. Balance took a hit and its just obvious and frustrating to me. maybe all the geofilteriing people did made peoples skills more mixed and perhaps this is how open crossplay was always meant to feel like after the fix
This system is designed such that it will match people in parties against higher skilled individuals. That is what this game is doing. It basically makes it so you are being punished for playing with your friends⦠Unless your friends are all super competitive and relatively the same skill level.
yes that seems to be the case. My point though is, the people partied up have a better chance if they use their advantage of communication. if your not communicating in ranked while partied up then i think youre in the minority.
Got two words for you, Elden Ring.
do you regularly use mics in open crossplay?
Hey, do you think MMR is working fine? Because it has totally ruined my experience. As a Gold 5 player, I constantly get matched up with high Platinums and Diamonds. I think that once we have done our placement matches, the game should only pair us with similar ranked players regardless of how well you did your last match. I may get stuck in my current rank because of this issue and although I agree with your argument about comms, I consider this MMR thing as a far bigger issue for me. And thatās not even taking into account the occasional desync and my high ms.
lol, I looked at 2 random matches of yours and its putting you against onyx playyers. do you play solo or in a party?
Yeah, majority of the time I call out even if the rest of the lobby is silent. Also use the ping feature as much as I can.
Even if noone else is talking, I can usually see players responding to my callouts so I think it works. Had a few messages at the end of the game saying thank you and people who use their mics to say good callouts at the end. Had a fair few people also start using their mics after I start using mine too.
mics in open crossplay is necessary at this point. i dont want to use a mic though. Honestly Im surprised matchmaking works as well as it does with just br starts, no radar and weapon pads crying for your empty secondary weapon slot that we might as well be playing fiesta. I put that success down to the balanced map design and movement.
The tricky thing is that your skill curve right after placement is still wide.
You CSR can actually be quite a bit lower than the mean of your MMR.
Itās still volatile and looking for matches way above your CSR. But this is good though. Itās giving you the chance to rank up. It just needs more proof.
As you play at a consistent level your curve will narrow and start to stick.
Ok then. I guess Iāll have to endure for the foreseeable future.
I play solo most of the time. Very difficult to enjoy the game right now. I donāt even know how I keep coming back to it regardless xD
There are so many people whining that they have maxed their rank. that they only get wins against even or lower opponents, and canāt rank up.
Itās refreshing to find someone who feels the opposite.
But just relax. You are only being pitched against opponents who fit inside your rank curve. As you convince the system of your rank your curve will narrow, your CSR and MMR will align, and you will get more reflective opponents.
Halo is a team game. If anyone is serious about ranking up then youād need to treat it as such because other people will.
I would definitely play social with BR starts. AR starts is terrible IMO.
