I would have to agree that these rankings seem more accurate now; at the beginning of being ranked you’re playing against numerous different skill levels to see where you should land, and if no one is ranked yet, then you really have no clue what skill levels you are playing at that point and time. I’ve come to find that I can hold my own decently against gold players (as that’s my rank); however, when a platinum is tossed in they tend to play better than me, so I feel that I’m in the correct ranking at this point. That is the only way to get better is to play against better players, and obviously I’m not the best but at least most matches seem to play close, thus I’d state that the ranking system is working, at least for my skill level anyway.

And yet here I am with a Halo multiplayer experience that (IMO) surpasses that of Halo 4 and Reach in terms of gameplay dynamics and elements.
Starcraft 2’s season rating system wasn’t perfect upon release either. It took time for it to get where it is now. Halo 5 has time to improve in the same manner.

So it sounds like you were struggling in platinum last season. Now you are playing against players more around your skill. By looking at your stats perhaps a few of your games were with people that werent that great and you did really well.
Looks like you’re where you should be playing at now.
