I've gotten my money's worth from this game

I’ve seen more hate posts than anyting lately on these forums, but I have to say I’ve gotten my money’s worth so far from this game.
Wait till you get older and go to a sporting event and drop $60 on average seats to the game. For the $60 I paid for Halo 5 I’ve gotten countless hours of entertainment.
Things in this game not from previous Halo’s that I’ve truly enjoyed are Warzone, and especially Warzone Assault. I’ve played them more than anything else. To me it’s BTB on steroids, and no other game offers quite the same experience.
I also joined a spartan company, met some cool people. Tried to get more involved in the community, the company friendslist in game really helps with that.
All the forge stuff has been really fun to mess with, created some fun maps. Never really dove into that from previous Halo’s, felt like Halo 5 forge was a bit easier to use.
Above are just a few of things I’ve enjoyed, anybody else have a similar experience with this game?

I’ve stopped reading as soon as i read For the $60 i paid for Halo 5 i’ve gotten… You know, ever thought of that there might be some people that care about a beloved franchise more than getting their $60 bucks worth ?

As OP said, I think that for the $60 there has been a generous amount of multiplayer content for the money so I would agree there and feel that $60 has not been entirely wasted.

But I think you might be on to something as well if I’m interpreting this right…I personally am a fan of the Halo franchise for the campaign story and anything multiplayer is an added bonus if I play it at all (bought MCC and haven’t even touched MP, never played much MP for H2, H3, Halo Reach either but I did really enjoy Firefight in ODST and Spartan ops in H4) The cost of the game I do not think was worth the -Yoink- campaign and would have gladly let the game collect dust until I gave WZFF a shot during that free week.

So basically I guess it comes down to why you purchased it, if you bought for the campaign you got screwed, if you bought for MP or for both then yeah I think they have offered up enough content to make it worth it. And they did announce there will be more content coming soon.

You must’ve never played Halo before between 2001-2011 if you think that Halo 5 is worth 60 dollars. The Campaign is so bad that it doesn’t even count as content and Multiplayer launched with the least amount of content in series history. The updates only added content that should’ve been in the game.

It was worth it to me. Campaign was meh, but MP has kept me entertained. People just like to complain OP (as you can see above). If you’re enjoying it, that’s all that matters. Feels and looks like Halo to me, been around since the beginning. Everyone has an opinion about what they want their Halo to be, I just like playing Halo. Except Reach, that was awful.

I purchase Halo for both Story and Multiplayer, and “I’ve gotten my money’s worth” from the Multiplayer, not the Story.
Completed the Story 1 time, never had the desire to do it again. This is actually the first time ever in Halo for me to ignore the campaign, many of you can imagine why.
But that is not the point. I’m sure there are alot people who didn’t play Halo much before and just picked it up in the store to try out something new and when they played it a few times they got their money’s worth, and there’s nothing wrong with that, but it ends there. When I order Halo, it’s a tradition, and why did it became a tradition? Because of the past Halo games and the way they played, it appealed to me. With 343 approaching, the things I liked slowly fade away. Sure, i’ve had some fun with H5 multiplayer for the time being, never to the extent I had with Halo 3 though. I feel alot of my Interest is also fading away, which definitely wasn’t the case in Halo 3. And I know exactly why that is.
Anyway, still I think 343 is just throwing cheap stuff in and if I was an important person there, Halo would get it’s face back.
For me, Halo is alot more than just getting my “money’s worth”.

So we are in agreement in regards to being satisfied with multiplayer but not campaign. I definitely second your opinion on Halo 5 Campaign being the only one I have no interest in ever playing again. So is your point that you want a game that is worth the initial money from release and then has content added later to keep your interest? Or am I missing it entirely?

I’ve played over 46 days of this game, and I’m not done yet.
More than my money’s worth.

I’m happy with what I paid for

343 and Bungie are businesses, I’m the consumer. I felt as a consumer that I got great entertainment from their product for the value.

Yeah, to me it was worth the money and time. I’m sure others don’t feel the same way.

I guess it depends on how much you value $60 as well. Everyone is entilted to their opinion, but I don’t necessarily agree with yours all the way

That was the argument for when Destiny came out too. Lol.

“I’ve put in 300 hours so I got my money’s worth.”

It doesn’t mean anything. It just means that, for some reason, you’re content with getting less for your money than you did 5 years ago when you bought a game like Halo Reach or even Halo 4.

Completely agree, with multiplayer time + campaign + custom games I easily have played over 30 days, one of my favorite Halos for sure.

Reminder to consumers: Everyone made the conscious decision to spend their money. Your rights do not include your wishes; they are a right to working software, not to any personal version of preserving a subjective image of a franchise. If you don’t like where Halo is going, you will have the upcoming choice to not purchase any more Halo games. If you want to have the right to steer the direction of the franchise, you are free to apply to 343i.

Sure the Campaign, while almost universally hated, is still a matter of preference. However this doesn’t change the fact that Halo 5 has the least amount of content in any Halo game to date, you can’t argue with that. You literally get (a lot) less for your 60 bucks than you got with previous installments.

Strictly talking in a shallow, soulless, value for dollar sort of way I am reasonably happy in terms of what I paid for because I got the game and console…second hand! Oooh drops the mic

I don’t see any hate threads. What I do see though are avid, loyal Halo fans who are frustrated by bs. Many of whom have been with the series for years of their life, who know what they’re talking about, who know what is wrong with Halo 5 and all the mistakes and steps back 343i have made and yet they are met with and drowned out by blind casual players or ‘pro’ try-hards who, really, have nothing invested in the series in comparison and are ignorant, talking bs calling any and all criticism and complaints ‘hate’ because they don’t wanna hear it, they don’t want their harmonious sense of getting their money’s worth shaken away from them by the real fans.

I know I’m ranting, it’s all I do here really apart from joking around. But -Yoink!-, it really grinds my gears, you know?

Content isn’t the only thing that defines ones value for $60. Overwatch has no campaign and has a limited multiplayer in maps+modes but is argued to be worth it cuz the characters add a lot of variety in how it plays.

Mill even compare fallout 4 to h5 from “MY” perspective. In short h5 is worth more than fallout 4 to me. Fallout has much more content but it lacks that spark to make me play it like I did with fallout 3. I’ve had it since day 1 and still haven’t even beat 25% of everything dlc included. Halo 5 while lacking many things gives me that spark to want to play because it has great gameplay for the most part and it’s competitive, I’ve already passed my reach and h5 playtime. So content isn’t how I define if a game is worth the money. I define if something is worth it if I have the desire to keep coming back and wanting to play the game hours upon hours. Fallout 4 failed, h5 hasn’t.

I can give you a page of h5s issues to show you I full well know of it’s issues, but I still see it worth my time and money when I initially got it day 1 even with its issues.

I got an incredibly lacking experience for my $60 compared to the $60 I spent on previous Halos. Those had more bang for my buck.

Are you a Microsoft employee or spambot…or are you just happy to see me?!

  1. I am not a ‘consumer’, I am a customer. Like many others, even after years of using Xbox 360 I abandoned ship after Microsoft tried further infringing on my rights as a non-idiot human being. I bought the console second hand only after they reversed many of their decisions.

  2. My rights do include my wishes in this case, actually. If 343i screw up yet again with Halo 6…drum roll I won’t buy or play it! So, a reminder to wannabe PR people, “Sure we’ll take your money but not your wishes/advice. Put up or shutup 'cause we wanna ruin the series you’ve loved most of your life for no particular reason.” isn’t the most sophisticated market strategy! lol

  3. I would love to be Community Manager or Playlist Manager or something like that for 343i but they don’t seem to be interested in people who don’t tow the line sugar coating everything. Seriously, even the mods here, at least the ones I’ve run into are humorless nazis.
